Please provide the source on the extra 35-50 cal a day for muscle.Make sure you have a good diet plan and WEIGHT TRAINING PROGRAM.
If you really want to lose weight get off the treadmill and start lifting weights.
Cardio will basically take you from looking like a big pear to a smaller pear. It won't give you any muscle definition and can actually use your lean muscle for energy.
By getting on a good weight training program you will start to build muscle which burns calories while you sleep.
One pound of muscle burns an extra 35-50 cals a day.
Start focusing on improving your metabolism and you will lose weight.
If you have any question let me know!

Jonathan, where are you getting your information from and what are you certified in?
Pretty much what I was getting at.
Most of what he sad is crap, or wrong.
Not so much as wrong... but just mis-informed. Those numbers change depending on composition of the body. Like I said, weight training def increases metabolic rate, but how you add that muscle and through what methods results in different rates.
I just wish people wouldn't through out "numbers" as concrete information; it gives people the wrong impression and bad information.
Christ, now I feel like Steve and Mal.
and whats wrong with being a smaller pear?![]()
Now, if by smaller pear, they mean narrower pear, isn't that exactly what people who are losing weight are trying to achieve?
