Sport Where should I put flax seeds in my meals?

Sport Fitness
Hey guys, I already take fish oil, occasionally cook with olive oil, and have natural peanut butter almost every day. I picked up a half pound of flax seeds today, and just want your input on where to add it into my food. I initially thought it might be good to just mix in peanut butter, which I eat at night, but that would be a lot of fats in my last meal. I also considered throwing in a couple tablespoons into my oats, protein, water breakfast. Is that OK to have some fats in my first meal? I have heard mixed things about fats in the first meal, I'm not sure. Anybody have an idea? How do you eat your flax seeds?

Works well in shakes for me, but it works better in a blender. Look into flax meal/milled flax seeds too...since it's ground up it's similar to the consistency of flour and mixes better with oatmeal, in salads, in shakes, in cottage cheese...etc...

Wherever you decide to place them into your meal make sure you chew them. Your body cannot reap the benefits of them if you do not chew them down. So eating them in a way where they remain whole is pointless.

In conclusion just make sure they are ground down before you ingest them.

Thanks for the responses! When I do my breakfast shake, I use a hand held blender thing and it whips it up nicely, I would think that would be enough to split up all the seeds. Maybe I'll start putting 2 tbsp in my shake...

Honestly, my favorite place to put them is in chocolate chip cookies.. everybody jokes about them, but everybody LOVES them, and I feel great making people who don't eat enough fish get their omega's.... Or in homemade breads etc. If you do a breaded chicken ever that is good too, you need less breadcrumbs which are normally white of course so less is good, or throw them in to your veggies as you saute or roast. Milled is best, as everyone said already, and much easier to use (also, try hemp too!)

I put flax seeds in my Protein PB balls. Good Stuff
