Where is your workout stuff?

Just a quick question, where is your workout equipment? Is it in the living room, den, bedroom (no, not that workout equipment, hehehe), garage etc! The reason I ask is that the only room where there is adequate room for mine is in the den (the kids room for tv,video games etc). It seems that the room is always full of kiddos when i wanna workout and I'm letting prevent me from working out. Give me ideas on where you keep yours and how I need to work around my situation. Thanks, Greg

Mines at the gym but one of my mates has his in his backyard its pretty hardcore.

At the gym. However I do have resistance bands that I can use in any room, or I rigged something outside for them. I also have a keg and am getting some tires and sandbags soon.

I plan to train exclusively at home with these items, while going to the gym once in awhile to lift the traditional weights.

Seems your heading the same way as me. I have just built a sled!

At the gym. I like working out at the gym because it's a change of environment. Plus I psych myself up on the way there, do my workout, hit the steamroom and relax for a bit and then off. I follow a very regular schedule too. If it were at home, I'm afraid I'd be like 'Ah maybe in another half hour' or something and procrastinate.

I don't know what you would call my room. We call it the "game room" but it is really like a second family room because of the size.

I keep my weights there. I hardly ever use them, because I can't train intensely at home. It's sort of like how phil described it. I have a tire at home and I keep a sledge in my car trunk. I like to sledge things.

My basement.

I turned the basement into a gym, complete with the rubber flooring. The limiting factor I have in the basement is ceiling hieght. Half of it has a 8'5" ceiling and the other half an 7'5" ceiling. I have a reach of 8'6", so that doesn't give me much room for big plates on bars over my head.

I have the hack squat machine, bench and dumbbell rack under the low ceiling. Treadmill, elliptical, pull-up/dip station and half cage all have to be under the higher ceiling.

Edit: Had measurements off a bit.

hahahhahha

I have it everywhere. It helps me keep things in perspective. For me, livin is about ability to play, and the ability to play is largely determined by fitness.

Hence this place for me.

Back patio- totally set up for TKD and Yoga stuff. Soon to be adding one big bar, and 6 plates for doing Olympic lifts back there. I wanna grunt thru the neighborhood- LOL! I'm actually not agrunter.

Office- lots of lil stuff, like jump rope, ketle bells, couple dumbells, yada yada.

swim goggles over the rear view mirror most the time.

Garage, bikes, helmets, and gear for about any sport we come accrossed.

ALL USED I MIGHT ADD!

My gym is the world... lol. Actually I run quite a lot so it's good. I have jump ropes in my garage which I do sometimes since jump ropes can either be fun or a total pain. But for weights, I go to the gym.

This is the equipment I use:

1. I have about 450lbs (approx) of Olympic style cast iron weights (Gold's Gym, brand)

2. Olympic stainless steel long bar (45lbs type), a short "S" bar, a "tri" bar, two stainless steel, DB's

3. Olympic style Bench which declines and inclines, and has a squat rack. It also has a preacher pad, and a front leg extension device. I have never used the front leg extension device, come to think of it.

4. A mobile flat bench which inclines and declines

5. A upright recumbant bike with a back rest. It has a gauge for inputting one's age, wgt, etc. It will display heart rate, calories burned, and time in exercise.

6. A self made dip station. My friend and I welded this together "several" months back, and it looks like a traditional dip station one would see in a catalog or online.

What's interesting here is that for many months I used a "car cloths rack" for my dips (we have to be inventive in our requests....HEHEHE :) ). I have been wanting to put dips in my workout for some time, but flat didnt have the equipment or money--at the time. One day I got of my car, and the "car cloths rack' caught me eye. I took it out and looked at it. Since it telescoped out, I was hoping it would come apart into two separate sections. It did. It was made of steel, and the only question was: Would it support my weight and the stess of sets/reps. I had 4 rather high jack stands in the garage. I gather you can figure out what I did-------"worked perfectly"!

7. I have a rail on my wall in front of my stationary bike. It has two pics. Me and the person I want to look like. In between the two pics are numbers and months. When I lost the majority of my weight (over 30+ pounds), I would update the pic in successive weeks, but would leave the old one behind to see the progress. If I pushed myself in a workout, I would move it forward one peg, if I didnt, it went back one peg.

8. A golds gym weight stacker (next to my stationary bike)

9. A Swiss Ball

10. Several Stretch bands, at varying stengths

11. Telescoping Push-up bars

Glad to se you posting, GT!

Keep strong!
