Forums are supposed to be active, at least the ones I visit. We need to get some motivation here? Whats happening?

This time of the year the vegatables are everywhere, i have made stuffed cabbages, that are so good, today we will have garden salad, fresh beets, new potatoes / with fresh carrots, and steak, this is good eating. we like fresh natural food, either from your own garden or the farmers market.

well, it's still vacation time ... many people i know aren't around ... in fact, i'm in Europe right now (although, it's for work)

You are correct, my business is affected as so many are on vacation. After this weekend we will begin a very busy fall season.

I agree with you Paula, it will be nice to have a little more going on in here. I really appreciate all your posts...please keep it up.
AllCdnBoy has a point - I think it will get busier in the near future, when it is getting cooler outside and dark earlier. For myself I'd have to say, I can only go online during the week from my work computer - the one at home isn't working.

I didn't plant a garden this year - I wouldn't mind having the fresh veggies now... I have plans for next year though:D:D

What kind of business do you have?

We were previously about 10 years ago - dairy farmers, because of the large amount of acreage we are - now - aggregate producers and construction developers. The previous generation still produces veggies of all kinds, eggs, fruits and beef cattle, we are weight concerned people. :)

With this day and age, we now get to talk to others about (How To Lose Weight), my mother-in law is all about - - weight loss, and is too advanced for me. She is a compulsive worker who takes numerous supplements, so i am hearing it all the time. As my life style is more confined, i can only eat correctly and i am limited on freedom to be active. Although i have not gained in (2) years as of (last) years physical, but I do believe i am down a bit this year. I don't drink milk, like i used to & have stopped sweets completely.

holding your weight for two years is already a great accomplishment. And then even going down. I have the feeling I am on the up way right now, that's why I don't weight myself anymore....i know that it's not the right approach, but so far I am still in good spirits and try to eat - at least mostly - healthy. If the scale now goes up I might get frustrated and I don't want that - it doesn't help...I just have to try and get myself back on track and eliminate all the chocolate and cake etc.

i think everyone should throw away their scales ... they are misleading at best. the mirror is your best tool ... and who doesn't like looking at themselves ;) j/k

I agree, that you should use the mirror, but if you have some "spots" that you are unhappy with, it might not be such "joy" to look in the mirror, but if the scale is going down, it makes you feel good anyway. So I would use both, just not freak out, if the scale bounces a few pounds up and down between days. I heard somewhere that you should take a three week average to determine your weight - is that true??

hmm, never heard of taking an average, but it would make sense. However, I think 3 weeks is a little long, especially if you are on an exercise program. I think if you did a 3-DAY average and weigh yourself first thing in the morning, you would find a pretty accurate result.

Hi .. Just read this and felt like responding. I just signed in today and really excited about it. It's important to have people around you with the same goals and intersts, even if it is just the internet. :)

HI Steff,

welcome, great to have you on board.

@AllCdnBoy - you're right...a 3-day average sounds more realistic then a three week. Maybe the three weeks were for people that don't want to lose weight, but maintain.
