When to eat

My wife and I are just starting a new weight loss routine, and one thing that I'm not sure of is when would be best for us to eat. We'll be working out in the evenings, so would it be more beneficial to eat before we work out or after? Personally, I'm thinking after because the thought of doing much strenuous exercise after eating makes me worry about getting to visit with my meal more than once. :D

I try to eat every two to three hours. I typically workout in the afternoons right now due to my work schedule. So, before a workout, maybe an hour before or so, I will have an apple and a string cheese, or some cottage cheese. Then, I go workout. Then, when I am done with my workout, I come home and make myself a protein shake, and drink that...

Typically, you should eat when it fits your schedule, in simplest terms.

What do you mean when you say, "working out?"

If you are strength training, you should be eating before and after training for optimal results.

I never recommend training on an empty stomach with any exercise actually.
