When I'm running - Don't stop me to talk

Today it took a lot to get my butt out there and run. I just wasn't in the mood so I read the posts on here an got motivated and went and ran. I was a mile into my run when a car came up beside me. It was my cousin and aunt that I haven't seen in a while. So there I am talking away but thinking the whole time that I would love to say, "Hey - do you mind, I'm in the middle of my workout." But I was good and then did I feel like "Sh**" when my aunt says she just got back from the doctor and has cancer.
Cancer is rampid im my family. My mom died of breast cancer that moved into the bone. My father died of Heart Disease and had skin cancer also. My Aunt has Lympthoma Cancer, My uncle died of colon cancer and one of my cousins just had a foot of his colon removed. My other cousin had breast cancer and is a survivor. My aunt and uncle in Florida both had colon cancer and my uncle survived but I don't know if you call it living. I am only 38 and trying to be healthy. Sorry if I'm depressing everyone but after talking with them today, it depressed me. Yes aren't you glad I shared. LOL

I had a very dear friend pass away last month from ovarian cancer. My grandmother passed away from lymphoma. So you're not alone, believe me.

I've had 3 grandparents die within the past few years of Cervical, Colon, and Kidney cancer, as well as my aunt in April of Ovarian, and a very good friend when we were 12 of Leukemia. You just need to keep your head to the sky and be strong. Like stingo said, you're not alone.

I'm really sorry about your aunt and your family. I too had a loved one pass away recently after a long battle against cancer. I know it might be really hard sometimes but just stay strong and be there for your family.

You might want to see if there's a Relay for Life in your area and participate in it. I did my first one last month and it was a really good experience. The proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society - check it out.

Thank you for all the posts

I am feeling better today. Thanks again for all the posts. It just makes you wonder if anyone dies of old age anymore? I have a theory that the government is killing us off with cancer because they can't afford all the social security benefits it has to pay out. LOL! Anyone else have a theory on why everyone is dying of cancer?

Makes me wonder if people have always died of some form of cancer or another but didn't know it.

I too have had loved ones die of cancer. My kids grandmother on their dad's side died last year of cancer. My SO's dad just found out he has colon cancer, a guy I work with also has colon cancer...so sad :(

I'm glad to hear you're feeling better though :)
