Just wondering when y'all open em' :p We open on xmas eve, but in the US you open then on xmas day, am I right?

I opened up my grandparents ones are Sunday. My family never follows traditions at all. meh...My birthday is on New Years Day so since the holiday is so close :SaiyanSmilie_anim:

lol :p I wonder if it's special to Norway.. I'm not sure what they do in Sweeden and Denmark and the other countries around here..

gud ol scandinavian countries :p a pretty non religious country, yet one of the most generous and successfull.

I guess thats why its on christmas eve, a different direction to christian tradition. :s

One can only wonder what you do on christmas day :)

I put other.

This year I opened mine 3 weeks ago when my parents were in town. I only got one. (my parents usually get me a gift certificate to Best Buy)

We have lived in other states than our families for about 7 or 8 years now. So we end up celebrating whenever we are together kind of around December.

When I was a kid we celebrated on Christmas eve with my dads side of the family and Christmas day with my moms side of the family. So both during that time.

My wife and I do not do presents. We just like to spend the time together. It is really nice that way.

Kark - I'm from America :)

Not sure which one is normal. Actually for a while I had the same set-up as goergen (since my parents were divorced as well) - Presents on the eve with my dad and christmas morning presents with my mom.

I got an ipod from my partent + some random stuff to have at my dorm thing (it's not exactly a dorm, but it's similar)
From my GF I got two boxers which will go well with my glutes :D and a sweater.
then I got some other random stuff too from some random people.

But let's not forget, the most important part of christmas is all the food :D *unbuttons pants*

Honestly, I don't want gifts. I want peace on earth, really. When I was little, Christmas was fairly exciting times for me. But now that I'm older, I really hate getting Christmas gifts. I much rather have socks and underwears so I can actually use it on a daily basis. I actually make people return gifts that I find too fancy because I don't want them wasting money on stuff I can buy myself. I guess that makes me evil? lol.

Oh my god! I must have made like 10 items. I was in charge of the baking sweets this year.

Let's see what I've made: pancakes, muffins, lemon cake, blueberries cupcakes, brownies, raisins and chocolate chips cookies, and upside down pineapple cake.

Oh my god, there's so much crap, and most of it is in the box. I think my dad ate all of the cookies, but I think the cake we're going to have to throw away because no one is eating it. lol.

But christmas dinner... on my god! It was awesome. We gotten pretty tired with the turkey (probably because I bought a 12 pound turkey for thanksgiving and it turned to be a nightmare to eat all, lol), so we went with something else that my mom makes that she sort of threw together one day and ever since it became a family favorite. I don't know the name of it, but it involves baking, chicken, and a bunch of other goodies... so good.

I'm a bit late joining this thread, but I'm gonna throw in my .02¢ anyhoo.

We usually open one present Xmas eve and the rest on Xmas day, and one or two gifts exchanged on Nollaig Bheag, or Little Christmas, January 6th.

By the way, Master_Z, I'm not a Christian, I'm an Atheist and that's as far as I am going in regards to religion.

Quite frankly, I don't think anyone really knows the true meaning of Christmas any more (not that I care if they do or don't). People think of Christmas time as great deals on lots of s*** at the stores and giving and receiving gifts form others. The true meaning has been washed away by retailers as a means to sell you s*** you don't need. That's the only part of Christmas I enjoy; giving and receiving gifts and having off form work.
