I would love to hear what your favourite meal is.

I love:

A Salada (counted as two crips breads)
Some grilled Mozarella cheese on top with paprika and garlic or chilli

Left over cheese grilled on top of cauliflower that has been cooked in the microwave.

YUM - so delicious.

Marinated boneless skinless chicken breasts on the george foreman grill, with vegetables. 0 fat, 0 empty carbs, lots of protein and a giant very nutritious meal well under 400 calories. Can't be beat.

I love mango chicken
It is scrumptious with either vegies or salad

Marinade chicken allowance with curry powder, smish of garlic, basil and splash of water. (you can also add mango to the marinade mix for that extra bit of flavour)

Either slice or cook chicken whole in non stick pan for about 3-4mins

If using vegie (i use zucchini, squash, green caps, onion, baby spinach) toss them in and cook for 1 min

If using salad weigh out and chop ingredients as desired. I use a combo of green pepper, tomato, onion, baby spinach, cuccumber and butter lettuce.

Next slice allowance of mango. If you want only use half your mango allowance and keep the rest for later. Add mango to the pan and gently fold through.

Plate up your meal and enjoy
Cheers Jewls:p

And, what's with the calorie counting stuff???

Are you guys on Cohens?

my favourite meal is Prawn Salad!
I buy a couple of kilos of shelled prawns and weigh them in the appropriate sized bags, then defrost one each lunch time.

I make the salad out of tomato, cucumber, shallots, lettuce (but not much), mushrooms and onion.

I fry the prawns in paprika and fry the onions with them, sometimes I add a little garlic (in allowance).

Then I use the mayo allowance, and throw it all in together.

Oh gosh it's good.

Louise- I had melted cheese on caualiflour today!

my fav tho is chicken schnitzel salad (make the schnitty with crispbread and slice up all fancy-like) with rocket and cos lettuce, organic tomatoes and chilli balsamic dressing

This meal happens on sunday night and replaces my weekly counter meal at the Earl of Leicster, where the schnitzels are almost 1kg (and apparently 500gms of Lard equivalent in fat!) however they are so yum, this girl I used to live with and I wouldn't eat all weekend and go there and try and finish one which we never did (nonetheless, a HUGE cohens no no)

by the way has anyone else been eating organic since cohens? I have and I find I feel so much better and my veggies last longer

Gotta say, I buy MUCH better quality food than I used to.

If I can only have 120g beef, I'm having FILLET!

Same goes for Veg, although I'm looking forward to growing my own next year!

Does anyone else have tofu in their plan? I am a vegetarian but never have been a big fan of tofu, I eat when we had take away in noodles and salads and stuff but don't use it in my home cooking? Does anyone have any suggestions of how to have it? What spices to cook it in or something? Thanks!

Sorry BB not sure on tofu. I love the mozarella and vegies on crackers under the griller yum. And I like roo and vegies with balsamic. Also prawns with a touch of chilli and salt.

No I am not on Cohen's I just watch my calorie and fat intake and still
eat almost any foods just in a healthier smaller portioned way! After
reading and trying certain diets I don't believe in eliminating any
certain food group if you want a lifetime result!Tammy:)

Nia, with all due respect, I think this thread was for Cohens-OK Recipes.

Are there other recipe threads you could list potatoes and stuff we can't eat in?

asy :D

Hey Tammy,

Tis Ok. It does sound good, it's just we aren't allowed it.

I think this is one of the problems wiht having all the new threads come up on a 'new thread search', people don't necessarilly check which forum they're in before replying.

Tofu is really adaptable and will take on the flavor of whatever you happen to be cooking with... In the US (and I'd imagine in Oz) there are a few different textures of tofu.. there's silken tofu which is nice in desserts to for added protein to smoothies and such... and then other end of the spectrum is Extra firm.. which is really nice (if it's allowed on cohens) in a teriyaki style sauce just grilled... the texture takes a bit to get used to but it's pretty good... It's also really nice in curry type sauces.. or any sauce that's really flavorful, because it does take on that flavor.

sorry to interupt - i'm obsesses with food - if someone has a question - i am compelled to answer :D

hihi.. mi quite like tofu.. but been cooking it chinese style though... try adding chili powder and vinegar to mashed tofu and mushroom? taste spicy and sour , a bit like chinese style MaPo tofu~

Have discovered the Stir fried Cheezy Veg recipe on the Cohen's site, so yummy and on top of the saladas it is delish. It is easy to reheat in the microwave at work too.

My top favourite meal at the moment is baked mushroom with mozerella cheese. And its simple, just slice mushroom, mixed with herbs and black pepper. Throw it into a baking bowl, top with cheese and baked for 6 mins. Taste nice both just by itself and even better when putting it on crackers.
