What's the 'opposite' exercise of leg press?

Hi All! :)

I'm curious as to what the 'opposite' exercise of leg press is. For example, it's straighforward that the opposite of a shoulder press is a vertical traction, but I just can't figure out which machine is the opposite of a leg press.

Thank you!

well leg press mainly works the quads...that's the primary mover...and there are a lot of synergists.

the opposite side of the leg from the quad, that pulls rather than pushes, is the hamstring, and the glutes. A deadlift is a good 'opposite' to leg press.

But I don't do leg press, I do squats...and you should too if you don't have a damaged lower back.

leg presses suck
squats own
sucking is the opposite of owning

so squats are the opposite of leg press

not really but you realy should squat instead, like malkore says. :D

I think Leg Press has its place. For overall Quad development I think Leg Press will do the trick (though you still not squats) For bodybuilding; yes. For powerlifting/athletic junk...no so much.

My left knee will tell you the leg press is a bad thing. leg press is the only thing that's ever caused an injury and put me out of the gym for several months.

and it wasn't even that much weight.

maybe the leg press at my gym just sucks adn won't adjust to fit my exact height (i have shorter legs, longer torso/upper body).

i do know that squats helped my knee recover, and squats always fit your body shape/proportions since its not a fixed machine :)
