The purpose of this study was to quantify which dietary supplements augment lean mass and strength gains during resistance training. Peer-reviewed studies between the years 1967 and 2001 were included in the analysis if they met a predetermined set of experimental criteria, among which were at least 3-wk duration and resistance-training 2 or more times a week. Lean mass and strength were normalized for meta-analysis by conversion to percent change per week and by calculating the effect size for each variable. Of the 250 supplements examined, only 6 had more than 2 studies that met the criteria for inclusion in the meta-analysis. Creatine and -hydroxy--methylbutyrate (HMB) were found to significantly increase net lean mass gains of 0.36 and 0.28%/wk and strength gains of 1.09 and 1.40%/wk (P < 0.05), respectively. Chromium, dehydroepiandrosterone, androstenedione, and protein did not significantly affect lean gain or strength. In conclusion, two supplements, creatine and HMB, have data supporting their use to augment lean mass and strength gains with resistance training.''

I think you just expect too much out of it. I cycled off of creatine for the past month and I haven't noticed any changes in my lifts.

When I cycle back on it I expect to be able to put up a few more reps, but it doesn't make you superman or anything.
 
What has happened that makes you think that?

It just didn't work for me. Didn't gain the water weight, energy levels were exactly the same. lifts went up progressively and slowly as usual. The creators of creatine already said that some people it doesn't work for them and they can't absorb it affectively.

If its absorption maybe try taking twice the recommended dose ?

Try CEE.

It's said to have a better absorbtion rate than regular mono as well as next to nothing in the bloating dept.

Thanks for that, I've used mono in the past and I'm just like Phate, it had absolutely no noticable effect. Next pay day I'll look into CEE and see how that works for me
 
same here, no effect. I'm not on my second type of creatine, when I run out I'm gonna try a different one which has smaller particles or whatever.. so better absorption rate.

Just be aware if you get the powder form as opposed to the pill form. The powder tastes much like rubbing alcohol so if you plan on taking it post workout with a dex/whey shake, I'd mix it in with some ice cold water and shoot it down before the shake as opposed to mixing it in. It makes the shake taste nasty and if your like me, I look forward to the taste of a dex/whey shake.

Then you should try creatine ethyl ester.

those taht get too much bloat on mono, or don't respond at all, usually have good success with ethyl ester.
