The end of last year, I was out of work for several months. I was unable to excercise or do much physically, depressed over the idea I might lose my job because of the situation (which killed my eating habits) and put me at the heaviest weight Id ever been at, in the upper 180s. Ive worked hard to get back to where I needed to be, because my yearly physical is coming up this Oct, and I HAVE to be back to where I was before to not get in trouble. Ive dropped 30lbs so far, but still have 20 to go by the middle of Oct. One doctor told me eating decent and lots of exercise, another told me to lay off working out so much and just watch caloric intake, and I dont know what to do. I dont care how, I just need to get off this last weight someone and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. :piggy:

I find that improving my eating and exercising enough (but not too much) is the best way to loose weight.
What are you eating now? What is your workout routine? We could offer some tips if we know what you are doing. Also how tall are you and what is your current weight? You can do it if you are willing to put in the effort - it's also a mental game, not just what you eat and your exercises. :)

Im 5'9", currently weigh 155. Im small framed and at my last doc visit 2 weeks ago, my bmi was like 24%! 0.0 I typically stay around 1200-1300 in calories each day, I work out for 45-60 min 3 times day because of my work schedule. I drink around a gallon of water each day. Typically a mix of cardio and strength training. Steamed veggies, tilapia, salmon, grilled chicken, dressing free salads, and an occassional diet coke as a "sweet" has been my general staple lately, but Im not really losing weight anymore, just staying around the same and fluctuating up an down by about half a pound. Its rather frustrating :/

With what you have provided for your weight and height - your body mass index is 22.9, that is a healthy weight for your height. Dropping 20 lbs is still in your healthy range. What job do you have where 20 lbs is going to make or break your career?? Stress will make you hold on to extra weight - maybe try some yoga. You may have hit a plateau. You will need to change things up to see any more changes. Some people stop working out for a day, others increase their calorie consumption - might be worth a google or a look around the boards to see what others have done that has worked. I know that it is harder to loose weight the closer you get to your goal.

I work as a firefighter and do confined space rescue as a rescue tech. Id like to be able to stay on (but they arent going to buy me 3k in new gear because I got too overweight to use mine) so I can either get back to my healthy weight before, or get off. : ( Honestly, I wouldnt care if the scale said 170, I just want to feel healthy again and be able to fit in all my stuff. :/
