What Workout?

I am starting a new workout routine and I am looking for something either online or somewhere that I can see. A complete and full one.

I weigh about 240lbs now and would like to get down to about 200 or 190 while building muscle.

I would like to look like Gerald Butler because I am built a lot like him. I looked online and I know his workout consists of more than what is out there. and my gym doesnt have the rings and stuff.

Anyway if anyone can help me please let me know.
 
Anyone? I know there is such things as splits and stuff. But I dont know how to do it. Like how should I split it up?
 
Do a google for 'Chad Waterbury total body training'. it'll get you to some links on a good full body workout.
If you are new to working out there's NO REASON to do a split routine. Hitting all muscles with compound exercises three times a week will get you on a good path.

a few months from now, a simple split might be a good change of pace.

Do remember that aside from 'newbie gains' you cannot gain muscle and shed body fat at the same time. Newbies can for a few weeks because ANY weight training will cause your body to muscle up, even if eating at or below maintenance intake.

but after that the body 'gets used to the stimulus' and will either gain muscle or shed fat based on your food intake, and whether you're working out in a way that stimulates growth or fat loss.

Diet is about 80% of the equation.
