What to take just before bed?

I buy most of my supplements from a nationwide chain called GNC. What is the best thing to take just before bed to feed your muscles into the night wile you are asleep? Thanks in advance for any information you can give me.

I like to take a good slice of cheese before bed usually around 100 grams would be about my guess. Cheese is good because it's about 25 - 30% protein and contains virtually no carbs at all! Straight milk is also good. There's also something that cheese and milk does that espeically benefits while you're asleep and essentially inactive. I'm not sure what it is but i'm sure someone will eplain.

Casein protein from milk.

Slowly absorbed protein that benefits when you are inactive, like sleeping.

The slower the protein is absorbed in those cases, the longer your body will have protein running around before falling short.

I think this is what you are talking about, if it isn't someone will correct me.

Damn, there's gotta be some more good things to have as a last meal. I mean, cottage cheese just ain't my cup of tea. I just can't deal with it...

I really hate that I shouldn't eat carbs at night, since that's what I find myself craving...bread, or pasta, complex carbs...

Oh, and since this guy is already pleased with the thread, I have a quick question. I see people talking about cheese, but only "real cheese". Does this mean to just stay away from processed crap like Velveeta, or do the block cheeses at Kroger count as bad cheese too?

As long as it says "natural" on the label, that means it's real cheese.

Anything else is processed garbage.

Good, I was pretty sure it was good stuff. I hate nasty processed cheese anyways...

So, since I won't do cottage cheese, is a few pieces of cheddar a decent alternative at night?

Cottage cheese which is 80% casein.
