What to take along side of my other supplements? (creatine/protein)

Im really not sure what suplpiments i should be taking!

I am a fit guy, pretty muscley (not body builder type), but I have a bit of fat around my abs. I am looking to get bigger chest, lose the excess fat,a nd get my six pack back. Ideally i would ,love to look like one of those guys on cover of MensFitness magazine.lol

Anyway I am just unsure what I should be taking suppliment wise. Currently I am taking Ephedrine for the fat loss (yes I know bout it, illegal etc). PreWorkout I am taking No-Xplode Nitric Oxide. I am just unsure about protein/creating as I am wanting to be muscley but don't want to put on FAT.

I average about 4/5 weight sessions per week at the gym plus I will probably do a CV session as well. My weight sessions normally contain upperbody Chest, abs, back but have started moving all body as read that working the legs stimulates muscle growth everywhere else.

What suppliments should I take along side of EPH and NOXplode?, protein, creatine????

Thanks

Forgot to add - I am 25, 5ft11, and between 12.5 and 13 stone in weight.

You should drop the Ephedra AND NO. NO is just crap. Some whey protein and even some creatine wold do you well. Just get plain creatine mono, nothing fancy.

Why do you say drop Eph and nO?

Is the Eph from a legal point of view or the actual benefits it brings becaus eI do see a difference from taking it?

So many people recommend NO so why don't you like that?

Ditch all that supplement sh1t.

I don't think you need to go any further than some whey protein and a multi-vitamin daily.

I want you to post your EXACT routine, including all lifts, sets, and reps.

Also post your average daily diet so we can all help.

Quit taking the stimulants to lose fat, it's ALL about diet & exercise.

:)

Ephedra? Yes. Illegal.

NO...I have used it. Makes you feel good at the itme but long term it does nothing. And after a few weeks even the short term effects die off.

An example of routine I will do:

Approx 60-90mins
Chest -
bench press flat
Cable fly
Dumbell press flat
Dumbell pullover
Bench press incline
dumbell Fly incline
Dumbell pullover decline
Dumbell pess decline
Abs - Multiple workout targetting Lower, mids, upper and the obliques.

I did run outdoors 5mile twice a week but now bored of running.
I now tend to do a hour session on the bike in gym once a week. I also normally play 5 a side football once every week.

Diet:
Cereal in the morning or toast
Coffee
Lunch is normally pasta or a meat sandwich.
Dinner is varied - not necessarily healthy, normally consists of some meat.

I do have a glass of wine hear and there and also may have a few pints of beer at the weekend.

Yea, it's a load of BS.

Your body will eventually come very tolerable to all the stimulants in the NO, meaning (as tp said) the short term energy/focus boosts will die off. Total waste of money.

I've bought so much sh1t in the past (supplements, that is) that none of them really work, or will provide you with significant change.

First things first, is proper diet & training. Then after long enough spent getting these decent, could you then consider adding in some supplements.

Ok, this is exactly where your going wrong ;)

You need to do some research, read the stickies in the weight training & nutrition sections on the forum.

First of all there's nowhere near enough food to build any significant muscle. Rough guide i say, eat at LEAST every 3 hours, and thats at LEAST. Make sure each meal has sufficient protein. For optimal gains, roughly 1g of protein per 1lbs of bodyweight you weigh should be consumed daily. So in your case, your around the 170-180lbs mark. Meaning you need at least that amount of protein in grams daily.

Read up on training, there seems to be toooooo much chest work there. You need to be training legs, back, etc.

yes that is one specific workout I gave an example of. As a rule I tend to work 2 muscle groups per session.

i do work Back, Shoulders, and legs in other sessions. it isn't chest every session although I admit I work the chest more than any other body part.

I think it was Myoplex heat (creamcycle)

I used to take 20 min before my workout when I was lifting heavy. It had 20g of protein and Ephedra. I loved the Sh**. I’d get so fired up. I’d love to have some now but perhaps it’s best to stay safe. My opinion about it, oh hell yeah it worked.

If you are on it for a month, every workout is top notch killer because it fires you up (chemical motivation). But yeah, workouts at that level do work and most people would need that false motivation to reach that level for every workout.

After slamming through a workout I got the shakes on the bike, doing an easy recovery cardio, bit scary. Think that is when I stopped.

listen to the boys though. Can't go wrong with them.

Here is the deal, as a personal trainer I would tell you to stop taking the ephedra garbage but knowing how many of my clients are and most of this world they will continue taking what they please...with that said. If you are taking ephedrine then dont take any other stiumulants! If I were you I would continue taking NO instead. My boyfriend takes that stuff and he is ripped and lean! He swears by it. He also takes creatine and whey. Whey with water after every workout and creatine before. He does total body with a high intensity workout and is now a model because of his new shape. He just eats a lot of leans meats, hearty veggies and nothing "white". Hope this helps!

There is a fundamental issue with Ephedra or ANY fat loss supplement, and that is this: In order for them to work, your diet must already be great. Now, let's assume your diet is great. Guess what? You're losing fat anyway. So unless you're a professional bodybuilder trying to get down to 4% BF from 5-6%, it will not matter at all.

Say you diet for 12 weeks and lose 18lbs. Maybe you would have lost 20-22lbs when you took Ephedra. Big Freakin' Deal.

100 bucks says your boyfriend would be ripped and lean without spending all that money on the worhtless NO. But hey, it is just money. I am sure he has it to burn.

I agree with you. In my case I think it helped pack on meat mostly. As I said every workout was was freaking out there because of it.

But it could kill you. not a good idea :D

And this is why people go to personal trainers and get nowhere. So sad.

All you need is

A Multi Vitamin
Fish Oil
Whey Protein
Creatine
Glutamine

The last three are pretty optional.
FYP :D

Well thanks for all your replies. Like I say i am fit already and don't have a bad body, when I was in Afghanistan early on in the year I had a six pack but I came back, I soon lost it with putting on some excess body fat.

I will be off to get some Creatine and Whey Protein tomorrow. When should I be taking it because I don't really know for sure?
Protein? - morning and night?
Creating? -morning and night?

Thanks for your help.

Went to a suppliment store near my house on saturday. The guy was so helpful adn really knew his stuff about everything. Didn't even try selling me the most expensive stuff either!
He gave me dietry sheets, and also some exercise programs he knocked up.

Finished up buying Creatine Monohydrate (400g at £15), Met-RX Whey Protein (£20) (low in carbs), and got some Met-Rx Multi Vitamins (£5)because I don't really get enough in my diet as it is.
I think prices are bout average but he is only a small store so can't see him making much money.

I think a simple whey protein would do you some good. If you get a good isolate, you are going to get a good amount of protein (to help repair and build muscle) without getting a lot of fat. I get my whey from BulkFoodsDirect.com. Their whey protein isolate has 27 grams of protein, 3 grams of carbs, less than one gram of fat and 122 calories per scoop. Depending on what you choose to mix it with, it can be a great option to increase your protein without increases your fat intake.
