Sport what to eat?

Sport Fitness
After I work out, I feel a little shaky and fatigued. I know this is somewhat normal, but I feel like maybe I would feel better if I were eating differently. What are some good things to eat before I work out? Should I be dieting if I am working out?( I do cardio every other day and strength training on the other days.)

Definately eat a good meal before hand. A complex carb and a protein is a great choice. Try a lean meat, egg whites, whey or cottage cheese with a carb such as brown rice, sweet potato, oats or another whole grain. After ward eat another protein and carb. You may want to try a quicker release carb such a fruit, or rice cakes with a little honey to get the nutrients to those muscles fast.
Make sure you're eating enough throughout the day to support the exercise that you do.

Feeling shaky and tired is usually the culprit of low blood sugar. Definitely eat before you workout. Sarah has some good recommendations.

It will vary from person to person. There was a post on this forum not too long ago about when and what to eat before/after exercising. Everyone posted different things.

Personally I like to have a piece of fruit or something before my workouts. It provides the sugar (blood glucose) needed to fuel my workouts. I have a small (maybe half) a banana 20 minutes before working out.

After my workout I have a protein and a carb mix. This supplies lost blood glucose and provides protein for my muscles :)

Try that and see if it helps. If the problem continues... see a doctor. Stay hydrated too :)
