what to eat in da morning before workout

what should I eat in the morning before my workout. I usually have a bowl of oatmeal, but I'm not sure it thats enough for a 40 min workout.

Should I eat something else for energy or is that one bowl of oatmeal enough for 40min workout??
 
I like to eat some oatmeal for the carbs and I also try and intake some protein. I like that Nectar protein suplement, its 23g of protein, no fat, and no carbohydrates. I don't ever run out of gas.
