Hi every one!

Well i have registered with the Cohens site, and i got email yesterday with the payment link! I think i will need to wait until Payday until i can pay it!!

I am excited about starting this diet and i hope i can do it! But i still have this negative feeling about if this will be right for me or not! I think it is the right thing to do and i do feel so positive about it.... especially when i read some of the diary’s of people on here!!!!!!

Also being in London it seems i can’t actually call any one to answer the questions i have!!!!!! Also i dont have a clue how i go about getting a blood test done here, we dont have "Clinics" or "Labs" that seem to get mentioned here and the website!!!!

Well i think i will bite the bullet and just pay for it on my credit card if i can!!! I am sooo skint as i have not long moved into my own flat!!! Its expensive living on your own!!! But the money is more than worth it when i think that in a year’s time i could be thin!!!!!!!

Any way, i will keep reading this forum for inspiration!!!!

I have just been to weigh myself in the chemist and i weigh.....

..........26st 1lb (or for the rest of you its 165.6kg or 365lb)

I have a lot too loose!!!!!!!!!!

Nicky Chick is in London, so check out her diary and ask her about where to get a blood test done.

The good thing for blokes is that they tend to lose the weight fast. The other good thing when you have a lot to lose is that the first bit goes quickest!! All that is good for motivation - but whatever the case, just stick with it and believe that if you do what they say, the weight will look after itself.

It's a lot to pay, but for most people who have struggled with their weight for years, it's an investment that's worth it in the long term. In the first place, it hurts so you don't want to waste the money! For the second part, use the clinic, by email if necessary, and get the support you need.

Come on here and get support whenever you need it. Good luck with your journey - a new you is around the corner!

Hey BigJim

That's right I am in London too! I signed up in Australia and it costs SO much more to get the program there. I checked out the on-line program but the only problem I had with it is that it would take (and has taken) longer than 3 months for me to loose all the weight I wanted, so it was better for me to sign up with a clinic in Australia before I left. I think if it is going to take you longer to loose the weight they make you pay an extension fee even though there not giving you another program they are just monitoring you. Your consultant will be in South Africa and I can tell you for certain they wont be much help in helping you find out which foods you can eat here in the UK. They will send you some guidelines and then you can send the items nutritional values to them to check but it's a little complicated. LUCKY for you I have already been on the program over here for the last 9 weeks so I have had to find out what is alright to eat.

The best yoghurt for me ever in the world (literally) is the Fage, Greek style youghurt 2% OMG it's like I have found yoghurt heaven it is divine :) The crackers that I eat are the Cream Crackers which are low in fat (you can get them at Tesco or Sainsbury's) they are in a yellow packet.

About the blood tests... now this was such an issue for me when I first came over as I had to go to a private clinic to get the tests done and it cost me a FORTUNE- 60+ pounds. What you can do is go to your doctors that your signed up with and let them know your circumstance, I am sure if you are making such a big effort to loose weight and get healthy they just couldn't deny you the blood tests there. That's what I do and it doesn't cost me a penny! I really wished there was someone else over here before I came over as it was SO stressful trying to find everything out for myself- unlike in Aus where they tell you the brands of food you can eat and everything!

Best of luck with your decision. Truely Cohen's is the best decision I have ever made for my life (besides getting married and becoming a christian lol). The food is very restrictive but if you are willing to be 100% commited then you will see the most amazing results and can loose up to 50lbs in the first 4 weeks.

All the best
:) Nicole

Hi Niyah,
Thanks for your support! I know this is some thing that i have to do..... In terms of what i will get out of it the money is nothing! Its just getting the money together to start!
I am truly excited about starting!

Hi Nicole
I dont know any one in the UK that has heard of this diet! So i may be asking for lot of advice... I will be sure to let you know of any products that i find suitable!!
Your right it is very cheap here, due to the lack of the support i imagine!!!
Also a question about the payments, if i dont want the support after the first 12 weeks could i just not pay until i get to the end when i would like the refeed?? So i would pay the original amount for the diet plan, and then when i near the end pay again for the refeed and the support then???

I am really looking forward to doing this... Its is about time i took control of my life!!!

One thing you COULD do, if you are going OK with it, is pay for the first bit, then do it on your own till you're nearer your goal weight, then sign up AGAIN so you can be eligible for the re-feed. Because you have a long journey in front of you, this may work - but all depends on your motivation etc. I'm sure you will get support on this forum if you hang in here from people who've done it before.

Whatever happens, just believe in yourself. Remember - we don't have a choice WHETHER we self-talk - our only choice is what we say to ourselves. So, make it positive and stick with it! This diet has enabled me to lose weight when nothing else I ever did worked long term. It's not a miracle, and there's lot of determination and hard work involved, but I have felt better about sticking to it long term, and I sure know what to do if I fall off the rails to get back on track.

I think that sounds like the best thing to do. That way i will only need to pay twice, as this will be a long one for me!!

I believe i can stay positive, and i know i will have my down days but from what i have seen already, this forum will help with that much more than the Cohens people!!

Thanks for the replies!!

Hey Jim

Only one problem with signing up for 12 weeks and then signing up again when your just about finished. They make you do blood tests every 4 weeks on the program to monitor you and to make your re-feeding program for when you finish, Re-feeding is the final stage of the program where they re-introduce all the things that were restriced whilst you were on the program such as combining protiens, bread, pasta, rice, higher suagar fruits etc. To make an accurate re-feeding program they need to keep monitoring you. I totally get what your saying though as if you need to be on the program for 8 months that is's a big cost when your not really "using the support". Maybe that's just something to think about? I am like you and want to save money and be thriffty about it as if your not getting anything much for your money why pay? But just consider the long term issue of the re-feeding program. Cohen's really is a fantastic program and people who generally do it for the long haul are the most succesful as they understand that it is a lifestyle change and not just a crash diet. If I can recommend anything it would be to start changing your mind about food and think of it as fuel for your body to keep you going. We need to eat to live, instead of living to eat and I am living, breathing proof that even if you have alot of weight to loose it can be done.

Take care and all the best for your big decision ahead
:) Nicole

Thanks Nicole,
I didn't realise that the refeed is based on the continuous blood tests. I thought that was just monitoring.... So i will need to think about that then.
There is no point in doing the diet if i am going to ruin the refeed!!!

Thanks again for the info!

No worries Jim. I spoke to my consultant and she said the blood tests are more for re-feed than monitoring. Although you do need to be monitored and made sure that your not deviating in anyway apparently the bloodtests are to create a chart and the more Dr Cohen has from you the more accurate your re-feeding will be and therefore the more able you will be to maintain your new weight. I would do as Cate suggested in your other thread and ask them if they can give you an estimated price or if there is a cut off price they cap the diet at for people who have a lot to loose?

Take care Jim
