What time of day is better to exercise? Also...

Also, is it true that you burn more calories exercising in the morning?
I don't have time in the morning either way, but I'm really curious.

I work out (walk) whenever I can get it in I have to work around
hubbys schedule, I like to do it after lunch or after dinner so after
a meal like an hour later is best for me and I noticed the later the
better I sleep! I read somewhere if you go on an empty stomach
when you 1st get up you go directly to the stored fat and burn
instead of burning what you ate then stored fat?
I personally need a meal for energy before I can do anything.

Working out in the morning will raise your base metabolism for the rest of the day, so overall you will burn more calories.

Having said that, in the long run, the key to weight loss is consistency, so its better to do something every day, at whatever time, than work out in the morning twice a week.

Doing it and enjoying it is the important thing. It is also a question of habit, and they take time to change. You say you dont have much time in the morning, and that may be the case.
From experience, I do feel a sense of satisfaction when I've made the effort to get up early and do a workout, so that by the time I've got to work I feel I've got a head start on everyone else and done something useful.

I work out after I finish work at 12 pm because I have no energy in the mornings even if I eat an hour before I work out. I find it gives me more energy the rest of the day.

I hear if you excersize too late at night it can effect your sleep! Maybe you should try getting up 20 min's early to get in that excersize, its so worth it!
