There's also a part II floating around if you search What the World Eats Part II.

Thanks for the heads up on Part 2. I wasn't aware there was a second part.

Rather than add to the first thread, I'll post the second set of photos here.

People actually live in Nunavut? :p

Europeans sure love their bread!

And what's with the Greenland family? They seem to have a bunch of whole dead animals on the table!

I don't know what part 1 was all about, but by taking a small glimpse of this thread makes me feel horrible for what I eat. I exercise 4-5 times a week and my problem is maintaining a healthier way of eating and this post helped me realize a few things about myself. (Maybe this thread had other ideas of what it was trying to voice out, but what I got out of it was.. need to really have some self-respect for my body when it comes to shoving something down my mouth) Thanks.

Westerners spend entirely too much on food. They also buy too much food.

BTW this is from a book, and I hope to get it from the library soon. I hear there is a lot more of a write up on each family.

I'd love to live in Nunavut!

Narwhal, polar bear, extra cheese stuffed crust pizza, watermelon.

My question is, where the heck do you get watermelons in Nunavut and how much do they cost?

I've lived in Nunavut before, everything costs an insane amount of money. It's still kinda cool place to live though.

I'll bet it is - 12 months of the year!
