What The Internet Was Invented For

I'm sticking with Opera......

I used to use Netscape before it got sold, then tried Opera/Mozilla/Firefox but found too many sites I need to use for real estate & other stuff insited upon IE so I just started using to out of convenience & I have to watch the spyware & adware. Still like Mozilla Email better than Outlook.

I'm gonna check it out but plan to watch how well it works for other people before switching. Ya never know...but if it it seems like if it's too good to be true, it usually IS too good to be true. (that's not a cliche when experience shows that sentence to be too true, unfortuntely.)

At last, a web browser has been released that tailors to the needs of the average home-PC user

I disagree. The inet was not made for something joined at the hip to your os to surf an insecure internet even if M$ say they have this "private mode". The average home-PC user needs to surf the net, use open office (free format) and listen to music all of which can be done on an Asus EE PC that runs on Ubuntu Linux. I don't like it when M$ try to act as if they own the inet or PC's.

yeah I agree Blackbeard......thought I would add this info:

Seems like they are trying to catch up with Firefox, Opera, and Safari. Still it seems to always have issues and one of the reasons why I have a Mac now. Those features have been around for a while with other browsers, and they seem to be more secure than any version of IE.

Private browsing is great, but if you have to log in like here, you can't cause your computer has to have the data sent to your computer and it will prevent you from getting it, so you can't log in.

If you want privacy surfing you need to use something like this:

ALso helps using a router, being on a closed network, and having a dynamic IP address.

If it a trail (on your computer) that you don't want to leave, (i.e. deleting cookies, history, etc..) even safari has a "reset" that will clear EVERYTHING with one click instead of having to hunt thru your computer to find all the hidden "junk" left on your computer that IE didn't remove.......

Granted, it is a step for Microsoft, but like I said before, they always seem to be two steps behind everyone else.......and they still try to dump other crap onto your computer with the install.....

The Mac is pretty secure but a Mac was hacked via the Safari browser in a Pwn-2-Own Contest (wont allow moi' to post the link). In short the browser is the os's weakest link and going to surf for p0rn with IE is asking for trouble, when they have things like mouse-trapping and fake plugins to hijack your PC (I have been told about these things since I don't surf for p0rn :D).

lol, well since I don't surf porn, then I probably don't have a lot to worry about. But I hear ya, no browser is perfect, but some browsers are less perfect than others.....lol :D

Wow, it was only meant as a joke and all the geeks came out

To be honest I'm not entirely sure what a browser is; so long as I click on the big 'e' symbol and the internet comes up then I'm happy. If it hides all the porn then all the better

You shouldn't joke about something as serious as the inet, there are still people who are not computer savvy and could be mislead  M$ fanboyism is enough to get daggers drawn these days on the inet.
