Ask for dressing on the side when ordering a salad. Dipping your fork into the salad dressing before eating it can cut up to 500 calories
-

Ehhh?? How exactly does this work haha.

I'm not sure about 500 calories, but maybe people will be more likely to eat less dressing that way, as opposed to having their salad 'drenched' in the stuff...

I typically ask for it on the side because usually restaurants will give you a bucket of dressing on top lol...

Does it mean dip your fork in, then stick the fork into the salad then?

I don't eat my salad with dressing anyway but I just didn't get what it means lol.

That's probably close, Dan.

It may need reworded or updated because alot of places have diet dressing now, and there are sometimes no need to modify how one eats in some cases.

.

Pretty much, yes.

If you put salad on your fork, then try to dip it into the dressing..
a) it may not fit well into the little cup thingy
b)the salad often will fall off into the dressing

So, yes, if you dip your empty fork into the dressing, then get salad, it puts just enough dressing in each bite to enjoy it, without being all drenched.

That's how I eat salad at restaurants b/c I LOVE Ranch dressing, and light/reduced fat Ranch is wrong, just wrong. So, that's how I have a little indulgence without overdoing it, since Ranch is highly fattening.

I see what you're saying. The way its worded sounds like if you maybe stir it with your fork before eating it (phrase doesnt imply salad) you can cut calories.
