What should be my goal?

Well I'm 17 years old, 6'5" (Im done growing) and weigh 265 pounds. I'm just wondering what I should set my goal to for weight loss.
 
Male or female? Not that this matters much.

And how are you going about your weight loss?

In the case of weight loss, slow and steady really does win the race. At your size, in the beginning, I would say losing 2-4 lbs per week would be ideal. Than, after a few weeks, weight loss should slow to 1-3 lbs per week.
 
Im male and havn't started my weight loss yet. Im just wondering what I should have my goal set at.
 
An Ideal weightloss goal for you would be to lose 5% of your weight. If you are 265 then it would be roughly 13 lbs. Now once you lose the 13lbs you can set another goal. This way when you look at losing weight you say it's only 13 pounds. I can do this, it's easy. Then you can do it again. Eventually the 13 pounds add up. You're 6'5'' too so you really don't need to lose much weight.
