What Methods Can Determine Resistance Training Workload?

Sounds like a homework question if you ask me :p
% of 1RM is very often used to determine intensity.
 
there are also formulas out there for determining total workload, which in itself isn't a very telling number, but when you look at your own workload over time, you should see a gradual increase in the workload.

its kind of like determining the 'horsepower' you generated during a workout.
