What kind of sleeper are you? What kind of problems have you experienced in that sleeping position and were you able to figure out how to fix the problem? What kind of problems are you experiencing in that sleeping position?

I am a side sleeper and I sleep on my right side with my teddy bear between my knees to keep my body align (so my body won't get twisted), but sometimes I go onto my left side when my right shoulder aches/uncomfortable and switch back and forth throughout the night when the ache/shoulder feeling uncomfortable wakes me up. I wish I can take my arms off when I am sleeping and put them back on in the morning. I am really tight in the upper trapz, especially in the morning when I wake up. I have my arm thats on the bed in a L position. I used to be a stomach sleeper, but then changed to my side a few days before Christmas because of posture & alignment problems sleeping on my stomach has given me. I used to have twisted hips (chiropractor told me), rounded & hunched shoulders (chiropractor also fixed that), lower back tightness from being twisted at night (teddy bear between my knees fixed that), etc all because of stomach sleeping. The only problem my side has given me is the really tight upper trapz, especially in the morning when I wake up and I am trying to roll like crazy getting rid of the tightness with the tennis ball each day and it keeps coming back and even when the chiropractor gets rid of it too. In the morning when I wake up, there is the tightness again.

I sleep on my side, I think I flip over a few times each night.

I used to snore if I tried sleeping on my back, but then I'm not a fatass anymore so maybe I wouldn't now.

I would strongly suggest learning to sleep on your back for awhile. When i was pregnant I started sleeping on my right/left side only, and had shoulder problems for a long time because of it.

I cannot sleep on my back at all. It's not comfortable. In the morning when I wake up and lay on my bed for a little while, I turn over onto my back, but could only do it for a few minutes before it gets uncomfortable.

I have read on multiple websites when searching for "sleeping positions" that sleeping on your right side with a pillow or soft object between your knees that puts you in good alignment is the best sleeping position; however, I could not find a site at all telling you about how you should have your arm and shoulders. If side sleeping is the best position, then why do the shoulders/arm/or elbow feel uncomfortable or achy in the morning? I have not really have any aches in a while (only during the first couple of side sleeping weeks) in my shoulders, but I have felt uncomfortable and have to turn over to my left side during the night and every single morning I have real tight upper trapz/levator scapulae

I have to sleep on my side my right side as well. If I sleep on my left side mrs nbs pulls my hair when im asleep haha.

I sleep on my back and my left side most of the time, and rarely on my right side.

I also have to have the left side of the bed (some may not understand this, but with being with the same woman for more than 24 years, one tends to get the side of the bed preference) LOL.

I am also a very light sleeper.

I sleep on my stomach most of the time. But then I also do sleep on either of my sides a lot as well.

I'm pretty dynamic, i can fall asleep in all positions.

I have the right side haha

Those of you who are side sleepers, do you have real tight upper trapz? I have been trying to get rid of the tightness all day in my upper trapz today with the tennis ball. its not working.

I do get tight traps occasionly but I think that is mainly if I am stressed out. Swimming helps alot with shoulder mobility and upper back flexibility.

sleep is for the weak :SaiyanSmilie_anim: Is it true that sleeping on your left hand side is bad for you because if there is food in your stomach is dont get digested proper as on your right?

I have no idea smithmachine.

The question that Smithmachine asked is the atypical "smithmachined analytical mind" at work spreading his wings to gain knowledge through studying certain products, ideas, concepts, and opinions. SM will learn much in this quest. My hat is off to him.

SM I dont believe what position one sleeps makes that big a difference in digestion.

Some general articles on sleep: (A what the heck post) :)

I sleep on my side, usually the right side. I used to tuck my hands under my pillow, but after lifting a while I would end up losing circulation from my elbows to my hands. Now I try to keep one hand down by me knees and the other only partially bent. From time to time I will still wake up with a hand under my pillow though and not being able to feel my arm from the elbow to the hand.

I sleep on my back, with my arms at my sides and my legs spread into a sort of a v, heels down. I took a "what kind of a sleeper are you" online test thingy once and it told me I kick ass at sleep. :D

Sometimes I'll cross my arms on my upper abdomen. Basically, I sleep like how they lay out a dead person, in a coffin.

I sleep on my stomach, with my hands underneath my chest....strange. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night and my hands are completely numb.

If I fall asleep in any other position, I almost always wake up back on my chest with my hands underneath.
