What is the Best Way to Lose Belly Fat?

Hello!

I'm a 22-year-old female looking to get rid of a little belly fat I have on my stomach. I don't really know where it came from because I'm quite active, but maybe it's just an age thing??? The issue is, I'm actually engaged and getting married in a few months and I want it to be perfect! If I can get rid of this annoying belly fat before the date then I would feel SO much better. Anyway, I found a website that I think is pretty good that I am following to lose it, but can someone else give me their opinion on this site and let me know if you think it is trustworthy??

Take out all refined carbohydrates out of your diet, only eat starches after you have trained, eat lots of low glycemic fruits and vegetables and always with a source of lean protein. Do more cardio! Doing a lot of crunches and things will not shred fat from the belly. Fat needs to be mobilized into the blood stream so it can be burned for energy. Generally the first the 30 minutes you perform exercise you are burning glucose and after that your body begins to tap into the stored fat. Try taking a fat burner but only on days you train. Again taking fat burners are to mobilize stored fat into the blood stream. If you do not perform exercise that meets the demands of the krebs cycle, the fat will return to where it was stored! Hope that was a help

That site has some good information, but also a lot of bad information.

Here are some links from around these forums that discuss some of my thoughts on the matter. Notably, 3 of these are also stickies. These mostly discuss training, and the middle 2 links are primarily regarding fitness in general, so you will probably need additional information on diet/nutrition, but it's worth my telling you upfront that you don't need to get everything perfect right away. Just start making improvements in your exercise and eating habits, and you'll look good for your wedding...and you'll be set up to continue good habits for a long time thereafter, so you'll continue looking great long into your marriage, which I'm sure both you and your husband-to-be will appreciate :)

Directly onto nutrition, I'm going to defer to another post by another member on another forum. Hopefully you're able to view this: Calculating Calorie and Macronutrient Needs - Bodybuilding.com Forums

The best way to lose weight is by eating five times a day! You may be wondering how could this fact be the best way to lose weight, but in truth, this is fool proof! Just go ahead and start your day with your yummy breakfast! You see, if you eat an ample amount of food for breakfast, odds are you will feel like eating less at night. Skipping meals are a definite no-no, it will only cause you to overeat as the day passes on. Eat three reasonable sized meals and two low calorie delish snacks.

I agree that skipping meals is not a great idea, but saying that eating 5 times a day is the "best" way to lose weight is a bit misleading. This works for some people, but not for everyone.
