Sorry about creating a un-needed thread.

So many people have told me so much these past few days I have been getting confused!

I should have used the search before posting :)

At least I know for next time!

You'll need all of the above, except for the weight gaining shake at night, as answered in the other thread. As Sara said though, read around the forums and your questions will be answered in detail.

you need the right balance of all three really.

keep protein at 1g per pound of body weight as a minimum.
carbs are gonna be very important, since they are your source of energy. its typical to shoot for 2.5-3g of carbs per pound of lean body mass on a bulk.

fat is important too for a variety of health reasons, but also because it does help keep you anabolic because it plays a role in testosterone production.

calories in general need to be 10%-20% over your maintenance needs so you have the 'fuel' to build more muscle.

Thanks,

I have been reading things that say you only need 500-1000 more calories than maintenance.

But then it made me think, 'what about protein and carbs, fats etc?'

Then other sites said protein can speed up your metabolism

It confused me a little but ok now I know what to include in my daily intake, not just to live on 70% tuna and chicken lol

low fat , high protein foods, and tons of it :) and by tons i mean 500 to 750 extra calories aday..(as compared to ur normal diet)
