What is a good BMI and weight

I was wondering what a good BMI is for people? Does it depend on your bone structure or fitness level. I do not mean to sound dumb, but it gets kind of confusing. In sept. I was 194 before I had neck surgery and today I weighed in at 160.8 lbs. I'm on meds to help with eating and for pain, etc. I like my weight loss and want to continue it, but on various googles it says I should weigh anywhere from 107 to 141. Why such a difference? Does age matter? I'm 36 w/3 teenage boys, Just wondering? Thanks!

Age matters, frame size matters, whether you're very muscular matters. There's no one right BMI for everyone, which is why there's a range of "normal." And even that range doesn't cover every healthy possibility (nor does it exclude every unhealthy possibility).

BMI is bodymass index = and doesn't take into consideration muscle mass - so once you start to look a certain way, then it's not a good indicator.

What's the best weight? the one you are comfortable at -when you like how your clothes fit and like what you see in themirror... Keep your expectations realistic..

you're a grown woman with children, fitting into a juniors size 3 isn't a good goal because you probably won't have a juniors body anymore no matter how hard you work - but keep your expections reasonable and right for you

One average I've seen is 100 lbs for 5 feet then 5lbs for every inch over 5 feet - but that doesnt take into considration bone structure..

Read the thread about scale mentality - don't get hung up over a number in the scale...

Thanks for the tips! I'll read the threads! I'm not expecting to look like a teenager, lol, my boys would probably hate that, lol. Just trying to put together a realistic goal for myself and stick to it. There's so much info. out there, but it does not always add up! Thanks again!
