drank protein shakes for a day.

I know this isn't exactly the most healthful suggestion, well, maybe. Somedays I really just feel like existing on shakes. I make mine with 100% whey, soy milk, natty butter and sometimes a banana and wheat germ or wheat bran. It is easy to throw in "extras" to get cals up (which we all know has been hard for me to do). I would be able to get to my cals easy..and beyond with protein shakes. they digest so quickly and have a very temporary "stuffed" feeling associated with them. Plus they are NICE on these hot days. Is this so bad to do just every once in awhile?
 
I don't think it's bad to have one a day....maybe 2 a day occasionally when it's hot and they feel like a treat. If you exist on them solely you're missing a lot though. Veggies, grains, meats, etc that are so good for us. On the other hand, you can buy a great variety of frozen fruits to put in them besides bananas you can have strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries. All very good for you.

I agree with Sarah. I think a more rounded out menu would be more beneficial. It'd be like someone asking if they could just take vitamins all day :) Well sort of... you get my point.
