Sport what happens if you take too much omega 3

Sport Fitness
I take supplements plus I eat some things that have it, I just wanted to know how sensitive omega 3 fats are if you intake a bit more than needed

As far as I know, nothing. It's simply fat...good fat.

And you'll be hard pressed to actually take in 'too much', even with supplementation and eating salmon daily.

It would be very hard for you to take in too much. The only downside i am aware of, is a diet that is VERY high in omega 3 fatty acids can lead to a decreased ability to form blood clots. Internally this is a great thing because since omega 3 fatty acids are natural blood thinners, it lowers the chances of a blood clot forming in your arteries which means a decreased chance of heart failure. Externally it can be a bad thing if you are cut and cant get your body to stop bleeding. This is only in extreme cases though, such as the Inuit Indians whos diet revolves around whale blubber and meat (both of which are very high in omega 3 fatty acids). Word.

There can be negative effects of taking too much.

Read what he says under "he Dark Side of Over-doing Fish Oil Supplementation"

I haven't bothered to look at the studies he cite myself, but Alan Aragon is a pretty well respected author with a good head.
