What happened to "chatting"?

What ever happened to the "chat" feature of this site?

I dunno but it should be brought back.

Then again if chat were brought back less time would be spend on the boards helping new members as chat can't exactly be referred back to a second time.

It was likely removed due to the fact it did nothing but waste server space. No one ever used it...
