What gym do you belong to?

What gym do you belong to and why?

I'm in the market for a good gym w/reasonable prices and I wanted to see what you are all doing. Thanks!!!

YMCA, because I work there and get to for free. :)

I am currently attending the gym at my college for the wonderful reason that its included in my tuition and there for extra charges atop that.
however, i have worked at smaller gyms in the area and also attended NYSC when i was younger.
i would say for NYSC that it was a large gym with brand new state of the art equipment, saunas, steam rooms, and pool. the pricing was high (65$) in my area of northern new jersey.
the smaller gyms that i worked at (Healthstar/The Edge) were nice because they were cheaper, and they had more of a "family enviroment" although we had a staff of 35 people, it felt as if we knew all of them personally and even knew the members...so really if i were u i would do some trial memberships, i know that most gyms will give u at least a three day trial period.
the best way to ask for that is to come in and say that u are new to the area and would like to try out a few gyms in order to select one u wish to join....in fact thats what my husband and i are doing right now while the college gym is closed for a few weeks :D

I sgned up at a Bally's for a $75 initiation fee and $22.91/mo. I can go to only the one center, but I get to use everything.

Golds Gym, I joined because of the classes, they are wonderful and they have such a wide selection. Now I am instructing there!! The people there are wonderful too

LA fitness, $140 initiation, 30 dollars a month full access. I'm not sure if I get to go to all the clubs nationwide.

Fitness Today, its local only I believe. 15 months for $300. Free month for every referal. Free classes, lots of selection with equiptment. Very happy with my decision.

Gold's Gym...it's just too close to work for me. it's expensive, but having a gym less than 1 mile away from work is just too perfect for me.

A local gym. I like it. It's actually pretty big to be a local gym - with a Spin room, 3 studios for classes, a full tannning facility w/ a bunch of beds, and a big "kids club" with an indoor playmaze. In fact, it's 3 times larger than the local World Gym, but still has a personal feel, and our YMCA is a dungeon with a pool (old, dark, dingy, small).

I go for free b/c I'm technically still a trainer there, so can't beat that with a stick.

Local "fitness center" affiliated with a hospital... has a PT center in it too...

Because...

It is next door to my work and I can go there on my lunch break!

Lonestar Fitness b/c it's a private 24hr gym close to home.
