Sport What foods to eat??

Sport Fitness
I have to go on a low carb diet to get my cholesterol in order. I am wondering what foods I can eat and which ones to stay away from. I am also thinking about adding more fiber in my diet as well so any ideas there would be great also. Thanks in advance. :)

I'm a bit confused as to what you seem to have been advised (assuming someone has advised you to cut carbs in order to reduce your cholesterol levels) do you mean refined foods eg fried carbs or are you talking about the basics like rice pasta and bread?

The reason I am confused as what I understand is to reduce your C-Levels you need to cut down on fatty foods made with saturated fats which would generally mean heated fats and fats which are solid at room temperature (like butter, fried foods like chips and pastries/pies/cakes or things made with coated pastry). You may have been advised to drop some weight (if you are overweight high C-levels are very common) which would mean cutting back overall on everything, not just carbs but to cut your C-levels I'd have thought a balanced healthy diet is recommended far more then trying to reduce just one food type.

Eating more fresh fruit and freshly steamed (no salt, oils or sauces added) vegetables should help you out also.

all protein/low carb diets are not good for you! Your body needs all 3 macro-nutrients to survive -- carbohydrates, protein and fat. If you cut out one of those macro-nutrients your body will not function properly and eventually break down.

Eat whole, naturally occuring foods. Nothing processed, packaged or anything with added sugar, salt, artificial sweetners or preservatives.

At the grocery store look for foods with just 1 ingredient...not a list of words you can't even pronounce.

Live by this quote: "If you can't hunt it, fish it, pick it from a tree, bush or the ground, DON'T eat it."

I would recommend the warrior diet, it has done wonders for me and for many of my friends as well. Heres the link if your interested, it'd be a wise investment, but it's a big change and requires a lot of committment.
