what foods/protein shakes to eat when you are tight on budget

Since I work and pay for my bills, and apt. I have very little to spend on good food. I know eating meat has a lot of protein and is good for your body, but its so damn expensive to buy. I can't afford it. Buying my N-large2 protein shake is also expensive. I pay about $30 US to buy 3.7lbs(1.7kg). It lasts me about 1 month. I buy some red beans, but that costs a lot also.

I just don't have that much money to spend after all my bills are paid off. I'm on a VERY VERY tight budget. But I want to eat a lot of protein to bulk up. Unfortunately buying protein foods can be expensive. Maybe I'm not lookin in the right places.

Can someone help me out with this. Can someone give me a website to buy cheaper protein shakes or a place to buy cheap meat or anything that'll help me not spend so much, but give me the nutrition that my body needs for me to bulk up.

id appreciate it.

thanks:)

Try milk, eggs, chicken, turkey, tuna, steak, baked potatoes for low cost high nutrition value foods. Make your own protien shakes in a blender with milk and raw eggs (be sure to use uncracked eggs and wash them before cracking to avoid salmonella). You can add bananas, ice cream, yogurt, etc. for additional nutrition and flavor.

I found to have good prices and quality on their house brands of protien powders.

tuna is dirt cheap and a good source of protien.
its about a buck for a 100g can.
and that gives about 20-30 grams of protien right there.
eggs whites are good to, each egg contains roughly 5 grams of protien.

besides the pop top tuna, theres also pop top chicken and salmon. though i never tried the canned salmon myself

some ppl even use milk powder to help add extra protein
