Here it goes. I am 42 was 257 back on Feb 6 2011. I thought I would stop drinking beer to see if that would drop my weight. In just about 3 weeks I lost 7lbs not to bad for just not drinking beer. I then adjusted my diet to be a little bit healthier Stuff like NO cookies, sodas, white bread and slowed down on red meat. Today I am 243 lbs

I would like to see if I have my diet on a good track. I am not one for all the calorie counting but I done try to look at it for an idea of what I am taking in. I have dropped a lot of calories just for the beer. a week of drinking could be 30+- Monday-Saturday (Miller Lite Miller Coors 4.2%-alc 96-cal 3.2g -carb)So right now I am trying to stray around 2000 a day. Here is what I had today

Morning 1 Grapefruit, turkey mushroom quiche 8oz, 6 triscuit crackers, 1 hard boiled egg. I didn't eat the egg this morning.

Lunch Jennie-o Turkey Sausage, 8oz wheat pasta, 1.5 cup of black-eye peas and pinto beans

Snack Dannon light&fit yogurt, hard boiled egg and maybe 6 triscuits

Dinner Turkey wrap, salad

First off. Congrats on stopping drinking and loosing the weight.

Your meal sounds great. The only thing I could recommend is to make sure and watch your portions. My advice is to eat 5 to 6 small meals a day to keep you from getting hungry and to keep your portions down.

I try to eat about about 4oz of protein per meal and a portion (or fist size) of carbohydrates. If you aren't getting hungry and you aren't eating large portions then keep doing what your doing. Good luck!

Not with beer, but several summers back, I stopped drinking soda, and lost a lot of weight. It's amazing what you would lose just by giving up something small that you normally consume.

Good luck with your weight loss! :D
