What am I doing wrong??

Ok, I have been a runner for 17 years. Last year around June I went from a desk job to a manual labor job, and I got to my goal weight of 145 lbs. However, due to mental health issues, I took a little hiatus frim running, and holidays I gained 10 pounds back. I just want to be back where I was. I'm not sure what I am doing wrong. Calorie consumption is not an issue, I eat 2x a day...did this before and was still at goal weight. I run 3 to 4x a week. This week I bumped my speed up from 5 mph to 5.5 mph. Should I just relax and give it more time? I'm 5 foot 4 inches and 158 pounds now. My goal is 145 lbs. I have always been my best in the 140s range. I drink a lot of water too. My blood work, thyrois, etc. is fine. Any recommendations?? I have incorporated weight lifting before, but want to wait until I am around 150 lbs to start...or is my approach not good thinking this?

Hi i'm no expert but i can give you some advice from my personal experience... i think you gained the weight because you stopped running for a while.. your body is use to you being active all the time and thats how you could keep the weight off..i think you should just ease yourself back into a routine of exercising or running. No need to over exert yourself.for me i know my body.. if i get lazy and don't exercise i gain weight.. as long as i'm active i can literally eat what i like when i like as long as i exercise atleast 20 mins a day.. and i'm not even talking about running because i hate running lol but i do simple at home work outs when i have time and it seems to work for me.. but everybody is different.. Goodluck!!

Hint: There is so much more to health and losing weight than that. Yes that is a HUGE part, but many times is not enough to give results. Luckily there are MANY more areas of your health you can improve.

Goodluck!!!!!

Doing at least 15 minutes of rapid exercise (cardio, running) or weightbearing exercise a day will keep your metabolism going. And as we get older our metabolism naturally slows so be mindful that your body will want to stabilize at a higher weight than in years previous.

if the body is used to something, eg physical exercise then later if they are missing - the body takes on weight faster. maybe if you get back running, it will help
