westside cable crunches

westside barbell really advocates these, and have just made a pulley system so i can do them, the only thing is, i dont know correct form.

are you supposed to lean away from the pulley, and crunch your entire midsection and trunk until your chest and back is paralell to the floor?

or

are you just supposed to stand up straight and cruch down with your abs like a lying crunch?

cable crunch

The way I was taught was to knee in front of the cable--face the cable--hold the rope around your forehead area and crunch forward so your elbows come close to the floor. Raise up slowly to around parallel stay in the flex zone and crunch again.
