Okay, day one.

My name is Wendy, 30 years old. I am 5'2" and weigh 145 lbs. I gained 15 lbs in the last two months, as I live here in Florida where we were hit by two hurricanes in a row and was stuck in a house (too much destruction, etc., outside) with my two year old without work, horses (my obsession) or exercise for two months.

When I have nothing to do, I pig out and, boy, did we pig out .. it was all there was to do! She even got pudgy but has already lost it....brat! Last year this time I was 126 lbs. What happened?! Fifteen lbs. does not sound like a lot but on me it looks like 30 as I am short and small boned. Even my face is bloated and distorted. I have friends who gain 35 lbs and look great, just not my luck I guess.

The week before Halloween I started a diet/exercise program but, of course, all the Halloween parties and goodies sidetracked me. I always gain about 5 lbs at Halloween. So, today is the new start.

MY GOAL:
130 lbs with a consistent weight loss of 2-3 lbs a week. Total loss of 15 lbs.

MY CALORIE PLAN:
1400 calories a day with last meal at 6:00 p.m.

MY EXERCISE PLAN:
Two mile walk with my daughter and Ojo, our dog, at 6:00 p.m. every evening...first priority, all else can wait.
Toning exercises randomly when time.

MY DANGERS (TO AVOID):
1. DRINKING..it's not the alcohol, it's the remaining three day hangover where I proceed to eat about 10,000 calories a day and do nothing but sleep.
2. NOT EXERCISING. I need to make time for just 30 to 40 minutes a day.
3. NIGHTTIME. I am RAVENOUS at night, more so if I eat a lot during the day, and my mind just rationalizes all my goals/angel-on-my-shoulder away.
4. CANDY, COOKIES, BREADY-STUFF. Need I explain?!

DAY 1:
145 lbs.
No jeans or shorts fit.
Plan to ride one hour.
Plan to walk two miles, 30 minutes.
Plan 1400 calories.

Will update my diary tomorrow. I have a feeling this diary will help me succeed......

welcome to the forum and Good Luck with your plan.
That is already the first step....make a plan and write it down!
Keep it up and keep us posted:)
 
Day One Journal

RATING FOR DAY
Scale 1-10, 6. Overate on junk but early in day with no more meals after that. Good exercise session.

MEALS
8:00 a.m. Egg patty and english muffin, 400 cal.
12:00 noon Mini wheats and milk, 600 cal.
3:00 p.m. Bunch of Hershey kisses and gummy
worms...Halloween leftovers, 800 cal?

NO MORE EATING FOR ME TODAY - 1800+ calories total.

ACTIVITY/EXERCISE
10:00 a.m. Rode Hoss lightly for 30 minutes.
6:00 p.m. Step/walk/weights in front of TV (Kasey's too sick to go out for
walk as planned).

MOOD
Still out of sorts from Halloween partying. Daughter sick as well.
Day one of "cycle", never good. Aggravated by everything. Overall, yucky.


MOTIVATION
Wearing all my new bootcut, low rise size 3 and 4 jeans.
Wearing my cordoroy skirt and knee high riding boots and sweater!!
Fitting into all of my size 3 Wranglers.
Getting out of these same two shorts b/c I refuse to buy any more "big" clothes.
Having confidence and stamina to be a good example/role model for Kasey.
Making my husband proud of me again.
Feeling proud of myself again.....sigh

I like your idea of writing down your motivations,....I think I will do the same.
You have great insight on your moods and how it affects your eating patterns
Sounds like you and your family have been through alot over the last two months with the hurricanes...lots of changes in your lifestyle which I am sure has given you some stress as well. You will take off the weight, and life will get back to normal, trust yourself and give yourself a pat on the back for being here. YOU GO GIRL!!!!!!!!!
 
wendy just keep your eye on the prize ahead of you and i know that you can do it. good luck and i love the way you posted everything.
