Weighted Running

Is it alright to run on the treadmill, or the street, while holding a 35 lb plate? I would think it increases your speed. Just making sure its alright
?

NO, its not ok.

Doing what want to do is one of the Leading causes of orthopedic surgery!

If one of your laces comes untied, you might just kill yourself (or your neighbor, or your dog, or shatter the mirror behind you...etc., etc.).

Hahah, they did invent weighted vests, ankle weights, and wrist weights for a reason.

You can try those, but I've heard that they can do some damage to your knees.

Running with weights in general is the in the top 3 reasons for orthopedic surgery. Most of these surgery come from people running with those wrist and ankle weights. Your body was not designed to run while holding extra weight. It puts your body out of proper form, as well as un-natural strain on your joins. which will lead to greater instances injury.

Very interesting. Good thing I didn't bother to end up getting ankle weights anyway, especially for jump roping.

I'm definitely taking your word for it. Thank you. :)
