Weight vest during squats/calf raises... ?

I was thinking a weight vest could be a good way to add more resistance when I do dumbbell squats and dumbbell calf raises.
I might get one, though I was wanting to see if soemone has any knowledge as to weather this is good to add to these exercises. I don't see why not, but I son't know everything.
 
I doubt it would cause any problems, unless it somehow restricts ROM. But that being said, I don't see why you wouldn't just increase the weight, unless your equipment doesn't go any heavier. Depending on how the weight is distributed, a weight vest might alter the position of your back during a squat to continue obeying gravity, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.
