Sport Weight variance

Sport Fitness
Just wondering... I have been consistently weighing myself the past week and is it me or is it quite normal to actually be heavier at night before bed and then when I weigh myself in the morning, I become 2 pounds lighter! And that is before I've even been to toilet :action2: :action13: lol

Oh and see for the calorie counter, when it says 250kcal/ 100g in pork chops, i take it that it doesn't take into account the weight of the bones in it and has to be taken out accordingly right ? :action2:

Everyone weighs more at night due to eating all day. A person's weight can vary by up to 5 lbs day to day due to water rentention and intake.

thanks for the reply... but surely if i've not eat anything extra at night and not even been to toilet, surely my weight would stay the same? Nothing going out, nothing coming in :costumed5:

What tenpercent posted is true. Weight can fluctuate +/- a few pounds each day from influences of the persons diet, namely macro-nutrients/micro-nutrients, salt, water ingestion during the day, and not limited to the following:

1. The body is always burning calories 24/7 (even at sleep), and processing food consumption: For example, even if you haven't had a bowl movement, the colon is filling with feces (after intestinal processes) and preparing for the next bowl movement, which can add weight.

Bare in mind, though you haven't ate at night, the body is still dealing with some of the food you ate during the day, even if your stomach may be empty.

2. The kidneys are always at work filtering the blood and removing/cleaning various biological things, and filling your bladder even before you experience the urge to urinate.

3. Variances in carbohydrate consumption (dependent on what this is, and/or whether glucose storage is depleted, partially depleted, etc, etc), can effect hydration of cells (muscles, etc, etc), and effect the weight variance.

Understanding, just some basic......processes, and understanding what you are looking at when you check your weight, will save you monstrous mental trauma. Getting hooked on the scale will drive one to the fruit farm. Have a more keen eye on changes in your bodily composition, and whether its changing or not.

Best wishes,

Chillen
