weight to wait

Having a six-pack was my new year’s resolution some years ago. It was a life-changing decision and I’m not sure if it is worth it. I wanted to get it because I wanted to look more attractive, to be sincere I think I became way less attractive with the six-pack.

Before getting the six-pack I was running and exercising every day and I used that as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted, sleep at any time I wanted, go to all types of social gatherings, party a lot, etc.

In order to get a six-pack you need to reduce your calorie intake a lot, you’ll be hungry for some months. For some reason, there is always food and drinks on most social gatherings. For the first months, it is pretty hard to see everyone else indulging themselves with all types of food and drinks while you are starving. So I started to avoid a lot of social meetings and lost some friends.
So for the first months, until I got the six-pack I kind of tried to avoid people, my life was work, sports, and sleep. Once I got it, I did not want to lose it, and maintaining it is also hard. Especially with regards to having a social life. Every social event revolves around food and drinks and you’ve to take care of your calorie intake if you want to maintain the six-pack, and at least I did not want to go through the hell of starving myself to get it once more, so I think always twice before going for brunch, dinners, ice cream, etc.

I became a bit arrogant and lost some respect for people that indulge themselves with food. To sum up I had to change my lifestyle in order to get and maintain the six-pack and the way I see it this new lifestyle makes me less attractive.

I guess it depends on where you live, but since I got the six-pack some 7 years ago I haven’t had the chance to show my abs. My face changed, I used to look cuter.

So if it does not make me more attractive why do I want to keep it?

Fitness, I’m stronger, faster, more agile and my stamina levels are way better than 18 years ago when I was running for the track and field team of my college. I also have a deeper respect for myself. Those two things for me are worth the six-pack.
