Hi, i am 15 years old, and looking to get into weight training for a few reasons:
to improve my performance in tennis
to achieve bigger muscles to show off
for general health and fitness
Currently, i dont have much in terms of equipment, so i am looking to get a few general items that are nice and cheap.
I will be getting a jump rope, a weight set, resistance bands/tubing and a medicine ball.
I am after some advice on purchasing a jump rope and a weight set.
I have had a look at weight sets, and i think that these 2 options seem good:
* 50kg Weight Set Includes:
* Double baked enamel cast iron plates
* Plastic carry case
* 1 x 165cm barbell
* 2 x 35cm Spinlock Dumbbell Bars.
$200 however i have 20% so its $160
or
(almost the same, its the 56kg version, i just use the ebay page as it has more info)
SOLID 6FT BARBELL WITH CHROME COLLARS, 2X14" SPINLOCK DUMBBELLS WITH COLLARS
$150
Which would you reccomend?
For jump ropes, i am looking for one that i can use for some intense cardio, in addition to running as well as a replacement if i dont have enough time or its bucketing down with rain.
my options (from rebel sport)
high speed skipping rope - $12
another boxing packaged rope (looks the same as the first one) - $10
reebok speed rope - $15
reebok pro speed rope - $20
reebok leather rope - $25
nike speed rope - $20
nike weighted leather - $30
cheap plastic one with small handles - $7
For these, i dont really mind about cost, there isnt much difference.
Which of these would you reccomend? I MAY also want a rope that works my muscles a bit more for tennis, so please offer maybe 2 reccomendations, for strength or cardio.
Also, i know im not looking at a very broad product range, if theres another good place that is near 3150 in Melbourne let me know
Thanks heaps for the help
