weight not changing...

hi I've been struggling with my weight all my life about a month ago I finally decided to start an exercise routine.

I've had a cycling machine for ages so i cleared the dust off it and for about 3 weeks I have been cycling for 40mins a day, 50 womens pressup and 50 situps, I was 13st 8lbs to begin with I've lost 5lbs so I'm now 13st 3lbs (185lbs) But I can't seem to loose anymore its like the scales are stuck!!

Its sooo frustrating I feel like I'm working my butt off but nothing is happening. A few ppl have remarked that my legs and bum look a bit smaller (but i think they're just trying to be nice).

Has anyone else had any similar probs ? what did you do? I'm worried I'm just going to get sick of it and give up:confused:

please help

well it could be 2 things, one is you may have hit a plateu?? not sure, sounds early for that though. as frusterating as those plateu's are, you just have to keep going and get through it.

another thing could be your diet. how is that? you probably want to stick to the 1200-1500 cal range.

First off, congrats on the 5 pounds! You didn't mention your diet. Diet is the number one factor in weight loss.

Also, I you're doing great with the exercise but I recommend doing some strength training for your whole body.

Maybe you should lower your cal intake. Do you drink alot of water? That may help too. My plateu is also very high, mine is 160, I never can get past it!I know it's really un-motivating and depressing not to see your weight going down, but if you stick to it I'm sure you'll see results. Changing up your diet every once in awhile to fool your metabolism may work.. though some people don't feel that's healthy. You really should tell us your calorie intake because if you're consuming tons of calories, then exercise may just keep you at the same weight instead of going down.

Keep going Lizzie!!! Your body is turning your fat into muscle...and muscle weighs more. Once those newly refined muscles are firmed up you'll start losing weight again soon...it's frustrating not seeing the numbers go down but I bet your body is looking great and you probably feel really energized too!

i said the same thing at that weight! and now I'm down to 148~

eat right!! literally exercise your butt off~ and give it time~ it takes longer to work off pounds the smaller you get~

be patient~ ^_~

I can sympathize! I've been rockin' the gym and my diet for the past month now, and I've lost a total of 5 pounds. But when you think about it week to week that's healthy loss. A little over 1 pound per week. But it does get frustrating. Instead of feeling defeated see it as a challenge and kick it up a notch, whether it's your diet or your workout. JUST DON'T GIVE UP!

Just think about it this way, your body is so much healthier now....congrats on a healthy living!!
