I don't recommend any pills. There is no pill that will help you lose weight or be any kind of magic bullet, as much as the marketers want you to believe there is.
As far as supplements, it never hurts to take a multivitamin and a couple of fish oil capsules each day ... but that's about it.
I can't agree with you. I think everyone has choice: either to suffer on diet alone or to take pills as well. For example there are appetite suppressants, which help to reduce appetite for those who is unable to control it.
I can't agree with you on several accounts.
1) If you 'suffer' on a diet, you're doing it wrong to start with.
2) If you're eating healthy, nutritious food (as you should) you won't need appetite suppressants because you won't be hungry.
3) Most of those pills, including most appetite suppressants, don't actually have any proven effect on your weight loss, or appetite.
4) Most of those pills DO have side effects which can endanger your health though.
5) Taking the pills and imagining that they work might get you a positive influence on your weight loss for a while, but it will not last forever. In addition, they don't teach you anything about portion control or healthy eating in general, so even IF they actually worked, as soon as you stop taking them you'd pile the pounds back on. So unless you're willing to take (and pay for) those things for the rest of your life, just stay away from them.

I'll be honest - I *personally* think taking all those supplements is a waste of money. If you're eating a healthy balanced diet, then you shouldn't need them.
At the most, a multi vitamin and maybe some fish oil capsules, if you're not getting enough healthy fats in your diet ...
But the rest? Marketing hype. Again, IMO.
