Weight loss supplement?

Is there any recommended supplement for weight loss along with diet and exercise? Or if I want to any, pill would you recommend? Thanks

I don't recommend any pills. There is no pill that will help you lose weight or be any kind of magic bullet, as much as the marketers want you to believe there is.

As far as supplements, it never hurts to take a multivitamin and a couple of fish oil capsules each day ... but that's about it. :)

I agree with Kara! Pills are well known for NOT helping with weight loss. A healthy diet and exercise routine is the only way to go.

I can't agree with you. I think everyone has choice: either to suffer on diet alone or to take pills as well. For example there are appetite suppressants, which help to reduce appetite for those who is unable to control it.

I can't agree with you on several accounts.

1) If you 'suffer' on a diet, you're doing it wrong to start with.
2) If you're eating healthy, nutritious food (as you should) you won't need appetite suppressants because you won't be hungry.
3) Most of those pills, including most appetite suppressants, don't actually have any proven effect on your weight loss, or appetite.
4) Most of those pills DO have side effects which can endanger your health though.
5) Taking the pills and imagining that they work might get you a positive influence on your weight loss for a while, but it will not last forever. In addition, they don't teach you anything about portion control or healthy eating in general, so even IF they actually worked, as soon as you stop taking them you'd pile the pounds back on. So unless you're willing to take (and pay for) those things for the rest of your life, just stay away from them.

Agree with you. I think pills causes placebo effect...

I've been taking 2daydiet-japanlingzhi(.net) since August 09 and have lost 35lbs. I like them because they are natural, give NO side effects, suppress my appetite, busts my metabolism and gives me energy. Many of my friends and family are also taking them with positive results.

Remember there are many weight loss supplements on the market that are not approved by the FDA. It is important to make your choice as to a weight loss supplement by doing your due diligence before you make your purchase.

I agree with this. The fastest way to lose weight is healthy food and exercise. I would look into Gillian Mckeiths plan as it not only helps lose weight but it is very beneficial for your health. It's also a lifestyle change rather than a diet.

Lots of cardio will do the trick too. I don't count calories but the lesser calories you eat, and the more you burn off... the more you lose weight. Just make sure you dont feel hungry, or you could go into energy saving mode. The good thing about eating healthy is that most foods are amazingly good for you and you can eat in abundance whilst having the benefits of losing the weight.

I used to take pills(caffeine type ; )) all the time, specially when I was in the military.

At first they helped out alot, but after a week or two my body would get used to them and I found my self taking them just to have 'normal' energy lvls.

Stick with just diet and exercise, your body will start producing all the energy you need

I have a few questions .

I take green tea pills since I really don't like to drink the tea itself, would you say this is a waste? I'm getting about 800mg's a day, it also has some natural cafffeine and some essential vitality blend in it .
I also take the amino acid L-Carnitine , what your take on this. I was told usually to take this on a empty stomach or before a workout.
Also what do you guys and gals think of Chromium Picolinate and Tonalin CLA?

I'll be honest - I *personally* think taking all those supplements is a waste of money. If you're eating a healthy balanced diet, then you shouldn't need them.

At the most, a multi vitamin and maybe some fish oil capsules, if you're not getting enough healthy fats in your diet ...

But the rest? Marketing hype. Again, IMO.

Thanks Kara , I was hoping you would respond. I take the fish oil and a multi vitamin now , and the green tea pills (which I really don't think I need and probably wont be buying again.) Thanks again.

Id only stick with FDA approved pills and currently the only otc one is Alli. Ive tried it (its a fat blocker) but you still have to be extremely careful with how much fat you intake while taking this pill because it can have embarassing side effects. I believe the coined term is "anal leakage". Also your at severe risk for being malnourished of your fat soluble vitamins in your diet. So in my opinion its expensive and not really worth it, and also ive tried pretty much every diet pill on the market, (Hoodia, Trimspa, Xenadrine) and also had a problem with diuretics (former ED here) and all they did was make me feel like sh*t, make my heart race, and empty my pockets. Id personally stick with a healthy diet and exercise and a multivitamin.

Hope that helps...

Does the 2daydiet really work?

So far, I've read good things about the 2daydiet, as long as it's not the fake kind. I visited the mentioned link above and want to order, but I'm still not sure. Can something else vouch for this site?

Thank you for any information!

I am using this...

Hey Terry,

Sorry to disappoint you but seriously, there is really no quick solution to weight loss. Exercising is a way to lose weight but its result is slow and tedious. Dieting can be torturing and harmful to health, and worse it may result in weight/mass gain if we don't do it right.

I have started a special diet that activiates the hormones response for burning fats in our body and have since lost 30 kilos. Now I am just adopting it to maintain my weight as well as a form of healthy lifestyle. Unlike weight loss supplement, I don't have to worry about gaining back those lost body mass while on this special diet. Really glad that I really found something good and effective on the internet to help me with my weight problem.

Cheers,
Jenn_A

Uh huh.

Which is just as much a scam as weight loss pills.

Sorry, there's no way to do it other than managing what you eat and getting exercise. There's no magic bullet.
