Weight loss programs?

Hi all,

I have decided that I'd like to try and start losing weight again but this time take things a bit more seriously and stick to my goals! I already got my gym membership and I've been twice now. But…I think I need a good program that I can work with and stick to until I've lost enough and accomplished my goal.

Then I found this review and was wondering if anyone here has tried it? It looks pretty good and the results look amazing. Article I read: <spam removed>

Would love to hear your experiences or general tips for me.

Kennedy - I looked at your link, and although it says it's free, it appears to be trying to sell you something. There is no miracle to losing weight. There are varied food plans. You can learn about some of them by reading through this forum. Only you can decide which one is best for you. You need to find an eating plan that you can stay on long term. Fad diets will only leave you disappointed long term. You can always start by cutting back on portions.

Good for you on joining a gym. Sometimes other members can recommend an eating plan that works for them.

I removed the link. It breaks our advertising rules (and indeed our rule saying that new people should not post any links).

Eating healthily and exercise are all that you need to do to lose weight. Hang around the forum and learn more about healthy eating.

Andrestepin - what part of New people are not allowed to post any links did you not understand. You have only made this one posting. That was the last thing that you must have read. That is the way that people get infractions.

I've found keeping a log of EVERYTHING I eat and exercising works best for me. I track calories, protein carbs, fat, cholesterol, sodium and fiber. Good books to help you do this are available everywhere. It is arduous at first but quickly becomes second nature. One terrifying statistic I've come across from doing this is the amount of sodium in everything. Unbelievable. I'm eating 2,000 calories/day, every other day in the gym for 2 - 2 1/2 hours, non-gym days on the treadmill and Pilates at home. I've lost 10 lbs. this month on a regimen I believe I could live on the rest of my life.

I tried the low carb type diet - call it what you will - Paleo diet or something. I found that this was successful in helping me to achieve weight loss.
