Hello all!

I'm 20, from the UK, and have had a problem with my weight for my entire life.

At the age of 14 I looked like this and was told that if I didn't loose weight, I wouldn't live past 25.

So I lost 50kg in total and went for the girl I have been after my entire life. Rejection. Too fat :)

So I got back into my old habits, shit happened, people in my life that I cared about were going down wrong paths, My mum became I'll and at 19, here I am today.

I never got that girl, I look and feel like complete bollocks, and want to loose weight again. I'm finding it hard to get the motivation to kill off my food addiction (the girl motivated me more than the news I could die at 25) and I've forgotten how I lost weight the previous time.

So here I am, asking for your help - please point me in the right direction, I really need it...

I am hoping to log my progress on here, I look forward to loosing weight with you all and getting those results we're all after :)

Thanks for reading my intro :)

Hi Davidsan,
Welcome to the forum!

I say it all the time, take it one day at a time - we have the opportunity to start fresh with every meal.
You've lost the weight before and you can do this again, but extrinsic motivators (in this case, the girl) rarely last.
Finding your why needs to be compelling to you!

Hi mate,

EXACTLY what M2M said. Your motivation has to come from you.

Starting small as in small changes and building up sets you up for the best chance of success.

Maybe use notes in your phone to keep a food journal; it will not only track what you eat but it will help you stop snacking or eating too much take away because you’ll see it all every time you log it in the diary. Food diaries can be very helpful.

As far as exercise goes I started by walking a few kms and building up from there. The more I did the more I wanted to do.

Above all else though remember; if this girl rejected you simply because of your weight she is not worth your time and effort. You are clearly a nice, smart and sensitive guy. Find someone real who wants a real guy and you’ll be laughing.

Welcome and good luck!
