Weight loss and building muscle

Hi all I recently started weight lifting as means to get me motivated and to go to the gym. I am currently 310 lbs 6 foot tall with no medical conditions. In general all my family members are with broad shoulders and thicker bodies. Prior to starting going to the gym I was 290 pounds. I'm having some trouble losing weight on the scale. I have started to intermittent fast due to advice from people at work. I currently eat 2000 to 2500 calories a day. I'll be honest im not the best at counting calories. I have started to have fish or chicken with rice and vegetables 65 to 80 % of my meals for the past 2 months. I dont drink and recently stopped smoking. However, I used to be a size 48 and now am size 44. When I started lifting my max on bench was 135 squat 135 dead lift 140. Now 7 month later with creatine and protein shakes I max at 270 bench 260 dead lift and squat. I go to the gym 3 times a week and do 2 body groups each day with 5 exercises per body group. I do a warm up and the 3 sets of 6-8 reps. I also try to do 1 day of road biking a week for 30 to 50 minuets. Am I on the correct path or am i doing something wrong ??? Any advice would be awesome

Yes you are on the right track, however I am noticing that your bench is your highest lift, Squat and Deadlift should be higher than your bench, this could be a technique problem or possibly a need to increase leg and back work.
