I have only been eating about 1000 calories should i eat more?

Uuuuh.... YEAH! Jeez man, how do you expect to get by on that? At your weight your Basal Metabolic Rate is going to be around 1700 calories, add to that daily activity (300), plus heavy exertion during exercise (400-600), and you have got yourself approx. 2800 calories MINIMUM! Now here is the deal. You are young, so you probably have a MUCH faster metabolic rate, meaning that you could possibly go even higher than that and drop weight. Yes, DROP. You are eating about a third of what I would have you on if you were one of my clients! I would NEVER advocate any 1,000-calorie-a-day diet because that's the kind of thing guaranteed to eat up muscle mass faster than one of those strains of flesh-eating bacteria.

On a strictly personal note, unless English is not your first language, there is no excuse for a 16 year old spelling and structuring sentences as poorly as you did in this post. Sorry to point it out, but you are young so there is still hope. If you don't hear it now, you are going to have to deal with it later when you keep getting turned down on job interviews.

Back to topic. What do you mean when you say you are training with weights? Type out a sample routine of an average week so I can analyze it for you.

Now go EAT!

thanks but i dont no how to increace my intake of calories. I usually stuff myself trying to get all the protien. Heres wat i normally eat.
3 cups of skim milk
2 bowls of ceeral

day2
legs machines and lower back
i usally do this 2 times a week
thanks for all the help

Oh yeah... go eat. Stop reading now and go have a hamburger or something.

Seriously, I would drop the slimfast and add in a protien shake and a power bar. More calories and better for what you are going for. Add in Turkey, Pork, Beef, etc as well as nuts and whatnot.

Let me explain why you want to add more calories. At that low of a level, your body will probalby go into starvation mode and just shut down. You will then not lose weight and you will also not make as good of strength gains as you otherwise would. You have to MAKE SURE that you give your body what it needs to function as you are trying to get it to do.

At that height/weight, you aren't really overweight all that much. What is your body fat %? My suggestion really wouldn't be to lose weight at all, but if your BF% is high to convert that fat to muscle. Probalby much better for you as well.

ok i wanted to lose wieght cause of school, but i geust if i wait its better in the long run but im still going to have to lose some weight thanks to wrestling. Thanks for all the help and jp wat do u think of my routine.

The whole point is to get your body to work better. And to do that you have to get it out of starvation mode. That means you have to eat more! Yes, by eating more and getting your body out of starvation and working better you WILL lose weight.

Is that 7 lbs to make a lower weight class? If so, go with the increased caloric intake and keep working out. I bet you drop a pound or 5 and you can always sweat out a few pounds right before weigh in.

hey masterdine - i recall that i used to use diets like that when i was just starting out with bodybuilding. I think Kalrog is absolutely right on this 'starvation mode' business. When you consume such a low amount of calories, some crazy stuff happens to your metabolism. When I used to diet like that (before I knew what I was doing) I remember walking around almost shivering on hot summer days. Your body will definitely burn muscle mass, and thus you will lower your metabolism even more with such a low intake. You should definitely get your body mass index measured, if you can. You may be more lean than you think. If your bmi really is higher than you want it to be, then perhaps you do need to lose some flab. But, I cannot stress enough that lowering caloric intake like that is a huge mistake and you really need to change your approach to meet your goal. You need a better diet and PATIENCE. That's all.
