weight increasing problems

Yes, being overweight or obese is the number 1 modifiable risk factor for Type 2 diabetes, meaning that you control whether or not you become overweight. You cannot control other risk factors such as your age, ethnicity, or family history of diabetes - these are called non-modifiable risk factors. Here is a quote from the Canadian Diabetes Association website:

If you are aged 40 or older, you are at risk for type 2 diabetes and should be tested at least every three years. If any of the following risks factors apply, you should be tested earlier and/or more often.

Being:

A member of a high-risk group (Aboriginal, Hispanic, Asian, South Asian or African descent)

Overweight (especially if you carry most of your weight around your middle)

Having:

A parent, brother or sister with diabetes

Health complications that are associated with diabetes

Given birth to a baby that weighed more than 4 kg (9 lb)

Had gestational diabetes (diabetes during pregnancy)

Impaired glucose tolerance or impaired fasting glucose

High blood pressure

High cholesterol or other fats in the blood

Been diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, acanthosis nigricans (darkened patches of skin), or schizophrenia

(The quote came from this page: http://www.diabetes.ca/diabetes-and-you/what/facts/)

Weight can influence diabetes, and diabetes can influence weight. There are two types of diabetes which occurs due to weight increase or decrease. In type 1 diabetes people lose weight, the body stops producing the hormone insulin which is needed to use glucose. Being overweight or obese increases the risk for developing type 2 diabetes, and if someone who already has type 2 diabetes gains weight, it will be even harder to control blood sugar levels.

Hi,

Weight increasing doesn't lead to diabetes, diabetes is caused only with insulin imbalance. For increasing your weight try to eat more carb content food, milk, curd, diary products, prefer eating dry fruits.

Obesity can leads to diabetes. Obesity is one of the primary reason for Type-2 Diabetes.

Overweight may leads to some heart problems because of the cholestrol increase.

Increased weight increases the risk of Osteoarthritis.

It also increases fat deposits in liver leading to Fatty liver disease.

Obesity may cause several complications during Pregnancy.

Your meals should be balanced with the right amounts of protein, carbohydrates and fat. Choose a portion of a protein source such as meat, poultry, fish, seafood, legumes or tofu and serve with a side of green and colorful vegetables. Add a serving of starchy foods such as potatoes, sweet corn, rice or pasta as energy-dense carbohydrate sources. You can add a few extra calories to your vegetables and starches by topping them with butter, olive oil, sauces or cheese. If you prefer to snack on smaller meals throughout the day, choose energy-dense foods, such as trail mix made with dried fruit, nuts and seeds. You can eat sandwiches made with peanut or other nut butters, or use meats and add calories with slices of cheese or avocado. Creamed soups are generally higher in calories than clear broths. Add more calories to creamed soups by adding a spoonful of dry milk powder.

Yes, diabetes is one of the biggest dangers related to overweight. The major danger lies in the fact that many people do not have any symptoms until it is getting really life-threatening. Problems occur gradually: fatigue, massive hunger and thirst and infections are among them. But overweight can also lead to other severe diseases such as heart failure or even cancer.

In order to prevent that, it is necessary to change eating habits. As Haider above suggested - a good mix is best! It's a question of self-discipline, too.

If you have diabetes problem, you need to more conscious about your weight increment. It can be dangerous for you, there may be other factors that effect on you but diabetes is one of the most effected diseases. So be careful..
