Weight Gainer or Protein Powder?

Hi everyone,

I have been working out in an attempt to gain weight and have been using different supplements. I have used both protein powders and weightgainers over a five month span, and I am currently finishing off my first weightgainer (Cytosport- Cytogainer). I am trying to decide whether I should continue on weight gainers or go back to the protein powder I was using before (Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey). I was wondering if the weight gainers are actually worth having considering they cost alot more per serving than protein powders. Price isn't a big deal for me if it's worth what I am paying, but I feel that I could get the same results from using protein powder and just eating a lot more carbs than having a weight gainer (which usually make me eat less after drinking). What do you guys think? Any feedback would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

whey everytime

Weight gainers throw more crap in and charge you for the pleasure. Go for a good whey and throw in some maltodextrin/dextrose post workout.

So there really is no difference between the two except for the fact that weight gainers have more carbs (which can be easily obtained from food sources) and some other crap that really doesn't do much as far as muscle gain?
